Easily the best off-the-leash dog park in Perth. Has toilet facilities and usually a coffee van in the carpark during the day.

Dog heaven — does it exist? I think it does if you are thinking big open spaces to frolic, pathways to go for walks on and other happy dogs who want to say hello. On Sunday I met up with some fellow Unilocalers with a mix of dogs to check out Yokine Reserve. Unfortunately my raggamuffin of a dog could not be trusted to go off leash because I don’t think she has mastered any kind of self control. She really is a jerk sometimes — but luckily was so stoked she didn’t bark in the other dogs faces. All the dogs we came across were well behaved and they were contented to just sniff each other, mark their territory and with so much space you could easily spend a few hours at this well kept safe park on the weekend. Parking is easy to find and there are water foundations and doggy bags throughout the space. 5 stars!

The name Yokine actually derives from the Aboriginal word meaning ‘native dog’. That may be because it is close to Dog Swamp, but I like to think its because of all the happy pooches running free in the vast open space. There is always walkers and runners out and about day and night, hockey teams early Saturday mornings, PT sessions and a newly refurbished interactive playground for kids as well as barbecue facilitates available for these long summer nights. Lots of parking and toilet facilities.

The best playground in Perth is located here! Fenced, coffee van often in the car park, nature play, water play, sandpit, swings, slides, climbing wall and with BBQs and gazebos inside the fenced area! Toilets nearby, natural shade and plenty of parking are all bonuses. The walk around the reserve is a great length too if you wanted to walk/jog the pram around then stop for a play with the kids.

Beautiful Park! Great long tracks for running or walking, the paths are nice and wide too. Lots of shade for when exercising in Summer. The lawns are well kept and it’s very dog friendly. People also come here during the week to fly their model aero planes! Also look out for the Coffee Van that come to the children’s playground each day

What a great park, didn’t realise there was an awesome playground for the kiddies! Was here this afternoon for a child’s Birthday party. There’s a fenced in area with a huge playground, lots of shade, picnic tables and bbq’s. Everyone had a wonderful time, adults sitting around relaxing as the kids were busy playing on the equipment.

Thanks to the lovely Unilocaler who told me about this great open space. I went there last night to walk my dog and I think we both have found our new favourite walking spot. A dog friendly large reserve, makes it a great place to go for a long walk. These places are a few and far between in the area. Dogs are allowed off their leads too.
