Mediocre café with a good location. Lots of street seating right next to the Sun Theatre and near the rail line. Coffee is average. Good milk steaming and pouring from the baristas, but the coffee itself is lackluster. Flat, and a bit bitter. Needs more body and dimension. Beans taste a little stale. More food options would be nice as well. A few nice pastries, but that’s about it.

Nice little place, I’ve only stopped by to grab a coffee when there was a 20 minute wait for the train. Coffee was ok, but did find the guy took his time making it. Looking at the food there that other people were enjoying makes me want to go back to try it out.

Yarraville is a great place to kick back with a beer or coffee in some funky little trendy cafes. Java is next to the Sun Theatre which gives it pole position for a quick stop of on route to a movie. The coffee is pretty good, I read some previous poor reviews about it but my experience wasn’t the same. Prices fair. Atmosphere very trendy/typical café like… Customers, very varied(from suited and booted business folks to interesting strange hobo’s). One thing that is worth a visit though is the omelette. I appreciate it’s not the most advanced food to eat but these guys sure cook it up nice to certainly fill the hungriest of hippos…

Great for desert on the way home from a night on the town in Yarraville.
