Last night I decided to visit Barley and Rye with a friend, as I had seen some of their posts on Instagram which made it look quite tempting.
On arrival we found a seat and were told to head to the bar when we were ready to order, we wanted the trio of dips which we were told they didn’t have and was accidentally written on the menu. We settled for the chicken poppers which arrived quickly, I found them very boring and couldn’t have to many as the oily taste of them took over. For main I ordered the braised beef cheek with mash and green beans, and my friend ordered the pumpkin salad. My beef cheek was nicely cooked, but that was the only part I enjoyed and again it was lacking in flavour and very plain. All in all it was very underwhelming and the staff were polite but needed training. Will not be returning or recommending.
