The Bells Hotel

I’ve visited this pub a couple of times and I must say that it is much better than it’s more modern cousin across the road. Okay, while it might not be the only old fashioned Australian pub in the area (the East Sydney also have that charm) it does have a pretty good waterfront view — especially with seating out the front on the sidewalk. However what I particularly love about the place is the old-​school charm that you get inside, right down to the fees that the bartender charges for answering the phone (nup, haven’t seen him all night is around $ 5.00), though I suspect that in the days of the mobile phone such a service is a little obsolete. Can’t say much about the food, since I have only ever come here for a beer, but then again that is generally why I frequent pubs.
