The main reason I visited this little café(other than the fact that it was a café that I hadn’t visited) was because I thought the name was cool, and it was also just across the road from a really nice pub. Well, the pub was quiet, but this place was literally packed to the brim(though it was probably due to the time of day — in the evening they probably all gravitate across the road to the pub). Unfortunately, due to my milk intolerance, I decided not to go for their signature coffee, and went for a long back instead. Actually, they sell more than just coffee(and tea) — they have a whole assortment of drinks and snacks. It was a pretty nice place, despite it being packed to the brim.

I came here today with my boyfriend and he comes here regularly, it was my first time coming here today and holy crap these sandwiches are seriously good! We shared the pulled pork I think sandwich and the 7hr slow roasted lamb sandwich and it was to die for! I loved the pork better and he liked the lamb more but I think it’s very smart how they put the pork with crackling and shreds of fresh green apple and that corn relish! To die for! It was seriously worth the wait! Love this place and will defiantly come visit again!

This café tucked into the back streets of Paddington is a well-kept secret. The café itself is lovely… mostly white, modern décor. The best part about this place though is the breakfast. This is a GREAT breakfast place. Firstly they serve breakfast all day so if you’re like me and LOVE breakfast(even for lunch) then this is the place to be. Secondly the breakfast menu is particularly indulgent. I had a omelette here I will never forget — roast field mushroom with basil, pinenut and goats curd. OMG. These guys are also famous for their creamy eggs. Saturday and Sunday mornings can be packed here but the staff are as accommodating as they can possibly be to try and get you seated.

I don’t want to hate on this café because the café owners here are tremendous people and in all, very helpful, but this coffee-and-breakfast joint is not cheap. Keep in mind you will have to spend more than just a pretty dollar(and believe me, the inclusion of the word«pretty» here is just so appropriate, wholly as a result of all the pretty people who all converge here) on baked eggs and a skim cappuccino(really? I was right? Ha, I knew it). It’s more like $ 25 pretty dollars(or something within that close vicinity). The café is in Woollahra, which, if you come from Sydney, will explain a lot(Bills is up the street). But kbread and some muffins if you feel like something light and the coffee is definitely one of the better ones in Sydney. The café is also sufficiently airy and bright so if you only wear prescription glasses on some days, it most probably won’t have to be for here. You may have to wait a little because many(pretty, mind you) people seemingly agree with me(though clearly not about the expense).

A great way to start your Sunday is to have a hearty breakfast. And the best place to get this is at Flat White. A warm local café that is famous for serving their delicious breakfast menu all day, this place is usually packed during weekends but definitely worth the wait. Their buttermilk pancakes are light, fluffy, and will take you back to your childhood memories. The coffee is exceptional and is part of the great dining experience that you’ll get here. And while the place is always packed, you can be sure that you won’t have to wait too long for a table or when seated, to be served. Highly recommended!

The food is as elegant and stylish as the exterior of this Paddington café. It may be small, but it’s permanently packed with locals who’ve come to grab breakfast or a coffee. If you can, sit by the window overlooking the street and watch the world go by. They offer an impressive all-day breakfast as well as lunch menu. The porridge with rhubarb compote, strawberries and brown sugar is heavenly, but then so is the French brioche toast with banana and maple syrup, the smashed banana on toasted brioche with ricotta and the apricot and fig fruit bread. In fact, everything is delicious, which makes choosing all the more difficult. The only solution I can determine would be to come here every day. For lunch, agonise over the roast chicken and sweet corn Panini, the slow cooked pork sandwich or the herb and spice chicken with lentil salad. No wonder this is such a popular place. This area of Paddington has an unusual drought in terms of cafes, so this is an excellent place to be aware of in case a caffeine craving hits you along Ocean Street. It’s also worth noting that the Flat White Café upstairs area is available for functions on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The offer a set menu crammed with a selection of incredible edibles.
