As bakeries go, this one appears neat and tidy and offers a range of sweet and savoury treats and drinks. They are strictly cash only as the sign on the door says, but there is an ATM nearby if you have forgotten. This bakery has won many awards. My better half is a big fan of their pies so we shop here regularly. I do enjoy their potato pies which are worth a try. Self confessed sweet tooth here, but the slices, buns and donuts here are just a little too school cafeteria for me. I would love to see some more options on offer — a continental vanilla slice, a lemon curd tart, croissants maybe?

Good food generally but the biggest issue is that they don’t take EFTPOS and you have to have cash. So as I rarely carry cash these days I’ve stopped going.

Great bread and a cheap alternative to supermarket bread that has that bakery taste. Pies, rolls and savoury along with sweet baked goods are pretty good too. Pies can be very nice or very average depending on what you get but the bread and doughnuts are to die for. When I was younger, I liked the small doughnut balls that use to be just 20 cents each. I think the price has gone up since then, but they use to be great sugary, cinnamon goodness and a good treat. Now that I have aged a bit, the $ 1.80 bread loaf is a more compelling option, especially if you love sandwiches as much as I do.

I used to visit this bakery quite a bit when I lived in the area. I just HAD to go again the other day because they always used to make a ripper Chicken, Camembert and Cranberry Pie(at least that’s what I thought it was). It was to DIEFOR but they only made it at Christmas time, hence, my visit at the end of November. This time, my experience wasn’t so favourable. My pie ‘heaven’ has turned into a Chicken, Brie and something else(I couldn’t see the sign very well from where I was) combination that just didn’t have the same OOMPH as it used to. It used to be chunky chicken yumminess but now it’s slightly off its game(no pun intended) and all mushed up together. I’m not sure if it is ownership change or just recipe change that has taken my pie heaven from me, I’ve decided to move on. The bakery has won A LOT of awards in the past. They have some small tables inside if you don’t want to grab your food and run. It’s a well set out, clean and attractive bakery.
