Humber is a three level venue dedicated to a unique food a drink culture in the heart of Wollongong.

KITCHEN /​/​

A raw, art deco inspired fit-​out with vibrant character and classic touches, the ground floor Kitchen is inviting and comfortable. The menu is full of deliciously different breakfast & lunch options drawing inspiration from Australian, South east Asian, and American street food.

BAR /​/​

The middle level is home to a warm and inviting cocktail bar. Understated glamour and art deco inspired touches are featured with a huge brass topped bar, exposed brick walls and dark timber floors. A vibrant color palate brings this unique space to life. The perfect spot to sip cocktails and indulge in some tapas plates

ROOFTOP /​/​

Out in the fresh air, our Rooftop terrace & bar is the perfect inner city escape. Warm LED lighting and fairy lights help set the mood among the ferns and palms. The spot to enjoy a cocktail under the night sky, or watch the sun set over Wollongong. Breakfast, coffees or Humber’s hair of the dog can be enjoyed Saturday & Sunday in the sunshine.

History

Established in 2015.

Humber is housed within the walls of an 102 year old building, iconic to the Wollongong CBD. The exposed brick and Humber prints on the throughout the building gives you a glimpse of what use to be.

The roof top area is a nice place for a spring or summer drink. Prices are exy for Wollongong, but I guess it’s the price you pay (excuse the pun) for a Sydney style bar in a regional area. Lots of short skirts and high heeled girls if you are a single man looking for someone to chat up.

I think this place is great! Wonderful atmosphere with very nice staff… oh and the menu is superb! Great for those hoping for delicious healthy options. I bet you’ll walk away with some new ideas for your next home cooked meal.

UNI STUDENTS BE WARNED!
Whilst this place is crazy cool and appealing to all the senses, like Miles Davis if he was a hipster, it is not a place that is appealing to the wallet. A couple of friends and I went to check out all the fuss, and were greeted by the gorgeous, if not oddly shaped, bar. We were incredibly thrilled to see that this place not only served alcohol by the barrel load, but also food! Yay for fancy bars with edible looking and smelling food. A girl friend and I stepped up to order and nearly immediately went back to our seats. We were defeated by the uni struggle of «Use limited amount of money wisely on food» or «use limited amount of money not the same kind of wise but pretty fricking smartly on alcohol». We opted to go halves on a chicken skewer that cost about $ 10 and then chat up cute boys for drinks. Sadly, it was filled mainly with women and gay men that night so I could only steal sips from other patrons glasses when they weren’t looking. On the plus side, I didn’t get creeped on.
Overall, a lovely place to hang out with friends and have a good night. Recommend the chicken skewer. If you’re a uni student on minimum wage, save up first or get smashed at pre’s.

I came here for my birthday with a group of girlfriends and had a great time. The tapas menu is perfect for sharing and really well priced for the huge portions. We came early — just before 7pm — and it was packed so definitely come early! The tunes here are great: chill, very groovy music, that is the perfect volume to chat amongst yourselves and have a bit of a boogie. Although it’s the start of winter, the rooftop was toasty warm with heaters strewn among the guests, and I’ve heard a rumour that blankets will soon be available! Definitely worth making the first stop on your night out.
