I saw this place advertised in the local paper as being ‘new’ and owned by the same people who run El Phonecian restaurant. Turned out its been there for a few years and I’d just never been there or noticed it. I have to say it was quite disappointing. There are a lot of cafes popping up around the Hills area and they are pumping out some great food — this is not one of them. It was obvious the tomatoes they’d used were the tasteless mass produced ones that come in kg bags. Eggs were similarly tasteless. It is in a great location, has indoor and outdoor seating, and could potentially be great. But as another reviewer commented, they just haven’t hit the mark. With so many other cafes in the area competing for peoples breakfast dollars they need to definitely pick up the quality and freshness of the food.

I’ve been here twice. And each time I’ve left feeling that they haven’t quite hit the mark. The first visit was a breakfast stop and I’d hoped to try something from the lunch menu next time, but I was there too early for the menu changeover. Adjoining/part of the Winston Hills Mall it was open over the festive season when other fave haunts were closed. And at the mall it is the only café that isn’t part of the Gloria-Muffin-Michelle chain. The staff are super friendly and helpful. And the food is honest.
