It’s nice but it’s damned expensive. The food has a faint«wok hey» which is sadly missing in perth chinese cuisine. Here they have it; I just wished it was more intense. Deserts are excellent here though, with a high degree of authenticity; though the sago for the chendol is reconstituted from frozen.

This is by far one of my favourite Singaporean/Malaysian restaurants in Perth, it never lets me down. I have been coming here for over 7 years and the food is always very good. I love the chicken curry rice, the 3 meat combination, kauy tweo, mee goreng etc etc. So tasty! And the lemon iced tea is amazing as well!

This place never disappoints. Busy as and they still have a friendly welcome. Great food from my favourite curry sea food laksa to the Kung po chicken with dried chillies and the salt and pepper chilli squid. Not to be missed but book if going Friday night.

Service here is hit and miss. I experience both ends of the spectrum. Wonderful service when I dine with my folks who know the people who run the place. Not so wonderful service when I don’t dine with my folks. Have been coming here for a couple of years now and this hasn’t changed. The food however, is consistently good. The range on offer here is Singaporean and unashamedly so. If you’re after a Malaysian or Nonya twist on dishes, you’ll need to head to the other food offerings a couple of doors down from here. The servings have always been generous and the price point per hawker dish is around $ 10-$ 11 at the moment. Dinner costs a little more than lunch. There is also a range of Singaporean restaurant meal menu as well but I’ve rarely ventured from the Hawker selection. This place does get busy and sometimes booking for Friday and Saturday is a good idea.

Singaporean cuisines in Perth had mostly been unpleasant, silly proportion sizes, sloppy when you demanded fried noodles. Bamboo is by far the greatest Singaporean/Malaysian hawker in my opinion. Many of my friends disagrees because they reckon sloppyness/unpleasant service is the key of Singaporean hawker restaurants. Bamboo is normally packed with customers at peak hour dinner time even though this might make you think«man I’ll never get my food…». Well you’re wrong! Even when it’s packed your ordered food will be at your table by 10 or 6 minutes.

I’m Singaporean, and I tell you this food is Singaporean. As it says, it is as good as it gets. I normally go there for simple one dish meals because that’s what we do in Singapore. However my partner wanted to something special so we decided to have a few dishes with rice(Read: Zi Char) The good: Peking Spare Ribs, crispy and very tasty! Garlic Kailan(Vegetable) was light and crunch, very refreshing! Desserts were wonderful, especially the Lychee Sensation. Chendol is pretty good too. The not so good: Rice tasted cheap. Sambal prawns, sauce was fabulous but the prawns themselves were a let down, they weren’t fresh and tasted like they were soaked in water for a long time. The bad: Though we ordered our desserts together, my partner’s dessert came 15 minutes later! Needless to say, we weren’t very impressed. All in all, my partner and I were very happy with the quality of the food and especially the value. We’ll be back again!
