West End Twilight Markets is a specialty market come pocket-​sized festival held in a reclaimed carpark in the heart of West End. Every second and fourth Saturday a bunch of sailors, sweet hearts, craftspeople, providores, performers, scavengers, urchins, and genuinely wholehearted individuals come together to make magic.

We are keen on handmade, secondhand, recycled, reclaimed, collectable, vintage, sustainable, fair trade, imaginary, or concept items. If you think you fit the bill, please send us a letter.

Applications for stall holders and performers are forever open!

History

Established in 2011.

It’s a present for our beautiful community; with love. The West End Twilight Markets is more than a market place, it’s a jamboree!

We are creating a space where artisans, designers, collectors, providores, performers, frollickers, foragers, and sticky-​beaks can come together and make merry.

Based on the principles of sustainability, engagement, and creativity we are aiming to create a trade revolution that postulates real sustainability, joy, prosperity, and change. The mandate being that recycled, reclaimed, handmade, bespoke, local, organic, fair-​trade, and ethical traditions of production are the ways of the future!

Meet the Business Owner

Scotty Sally M.

Business Owner

Scott is a passionate referee, musician and current Masters student looking at Decision Making. For the last four years, he has been a Director at The Friends of Folk Festival and is keenly preparing the fourth and best to come yet. As Market Director of the West End Twilight Markets, it’s his job to make sure that the market is truly sustainable. If you have something to add that you know will aid us into the future, please email me and I am already interested (especially if coffee is on the cards).

Sally is a poet and bastion of engagement and creativity. She is studying Visual Arts at QCA, a recreational pianist, and slow-​paced collector. She’s humbly responsible for the markets ambience, experience and truthfulness. If you are a performer who wants to enchant people, message Sally. If you are a stallholder who feels you can expose the community to a new way of thinking, then this is the direction to aim your heart. Sally is charged with the responsibility of our vision and dreams

I’ve been wanting to stop by for sometime and luckily, I had a chance this past weekend. it’s quaint and had about 10 retail stalls and 4 food stalls when I visited. The live music was really enjoyable and I was fortunate to find a few treasures! I found a Sri Lankan bracelet and a vintage purse. It’s fun to stop by and rummage through the different stalls. I found items for gals, pals, and children. The stall owners are friendly too. I would definitely stop by again and see what’s in store for next time.

Nestled in a disused hanger you’d never imagine to wander in and find a bustling community market taking place, but sure enough in West End every second Saturday evening that is exactly what happens. As the ‘brain child’ of two passionate creatives, the markets are a collection of kitsch, food (Thai food stall, Roost Coffee, popcorn and a bar), crafts, vintage fashion and live music. Visit on your way to a great Saturday night out in West End or as an after dinner activity.

When you already frequent the huge Davies Park Markets of a Saturday morning, coming along to the much smaller Twilight Markets in West End seems a little pointless. This said, there are some nice clothing stalls, some good food, a live band and good atmosphere, so who knows, these markets might grow into something bigger. Plus having some markets to wander through on a Saturday evening is a nice alternative to going out drinking.
I quite like the second-​hand clothes stores that are set up there. It’s all fairly hand-​picked, ie. «vintage» clothing, but isn’t too badly priced. I bought a high-​waisted, 80s skirt from one of the stalls for $ 40 and it’s in really good nick.
There’s a CD stall, a tarot reader, a stall selling old bits of crockery, a guy selling popcorn, a wood-​fired pizza stall – quite a few different things, but it is dominated a bit by clothing.
Definitely worth checking out, but plan to grab a drink or ice cream after, as you can’t occupy yourself for too long at these little markets.

It was only a matter of time before West End had it’s very own twilight market dedicated to all things cool, eclectic and creative. It houses young fledging designers, artists and the like. It draws in the fashion crowd, the arty folk and those who just want to experience a little more culture in this city.
My favourite thing about this market is the fact that it is a twilight market, luring crowds during a romantic sunset… Why wouldn’t you feel the love at a time like this? Upon approaching the twilight market you get a waft of sweet baked treats hanging in the summer air, the ethnic fusions teasing passer-by’s and the sounds of music and happiness echoing through the old West End.
It’s a great place to gather. Where designers, inventors, bakers, musicians and so can meet the people who appreciate and support them, people like us. As Brissy peeps, I’m sure you would agree we are proud to have a community of creative people and that’s why the West End Twilight Market is a fantastic addition to this city.
