What could be more perfect on a summer day than an icy cold frappé? Our berry blast and summer sensation were long cold fruity draughts of goodness. While we didn’t eat, our neighbours’ food looked great, and had us indulging in a sudden bout of food envy …

Great Menu, Great Setting But the service is the worst I’ve encountered in the Sydney café circle. Staff are poorly trained, inattentive and completely found wanting at any request outside of their immediate task. Kids love the play area but staff are really poor at coping with them playing and are rather poorly rude too. When we raised our concerns we were told«thank you» — it would seem sorry isn’t in the vocabulary. The food isn’t that good to warrant this kind of continual treatment. Not a one off.

Delicious sauces on a winter salad and Lamblamo Pretty lux looking cakes as well. Warning, the rear courtyard papers to be a crèche mid morning.

Bellagio café of one of my most favorite places for breakfast. My favourite is the Bacon and egg roll, try it, and you will see the light. For me, this b&e roll is the benchmark.

If Zeus ate breakfast — and I have to believe that he does, hanging out with his homies all the way up there on Olympus — he would eat rough organic sourdough slathered with fig & honey spread. Why the hell has nobody thought of this before? Fig & honey. It’s my new favourite thing ever(sorry, Tamagotchi). I eschewed coffee for a giant mug of Earl Grey and it too I found favourable. Hunker down in the wedge-shaped inside area with windows out onto Bronte Rd and order a cinnamon bun or anything from the lunch menu which is all gravy. Not literally gravy, that would be weird, I mean creative and delicious food options. The green and red smoothies are kinda pricey at $ 12ea but hey, maybe that reflects the prices of the ingredients. Or the health-consciousness of the eastern subsies. If you like dogs, sit on the outside seats and play with the dog-owners who swing by and pull up a cushion for a coffee break. I met a French Bulldog called Horatio. True story. He was awesome.

Stopped in for an early coffee and perhaps a bite. We entered and went to take up a pew outside and were promptly greeted on our way to our table by the waitress who took our coffee orders. She later came out with our order/table number and cranked up the heater(much welcomed on a cold morning). We wondered whether food would be available so I ventured inside to fetch a menu(thought this would have come out with the order number — not so). Coffee is Campos and was good quality. Service was rather slow though, the coffee took a while to arrive, and perplexing that we weren’t proactively provided with menu’s. Given this, looked like a nice place to stay for breakfast/lunch with many indoor and outdoor seating options. Can’t comment on the food, although the baked goods did look appetising. Prices about average for the area. Coffee $ 4/$ 4.5, Banana Bread $ 6, Daily Muffins $ 5, Croissant $ 4.

I was initially warned off this place due to the slowness of service — which I’ve never had a problem with. The friendliness of staff is a bit hit and miss. The coffee is great(Campos) and the sandwiches are ridiculous. Pulled Pork sandwich today on the Autumn/Winter menu was tasty as(a bit fried chicken-y??) and the baby cos salad yum, but tiny — not a meal.

Bellagio is one of the best and most popular cafes in the Waverley area. Carrying Campos coffee, the baristas never disappoint in delivering on that much needed coffee and do so in an efficient manor. In terms of breakfast and lunch, the dishes are generous — a tasty big breakfast with fresh mushrooms, sausage, bacon, spinach, hashbrown and tomato with a side of turkish toast being the pick. For lunch, I can never go past their steak sandwich with caramelised onions, salad and a side of crispy chips. Generally hard to find a park but well worth the effort.
