Our family came here for father’s day. Dining was a relatively good experience. Lets start with the goods. The servers were very friendly. The meals came out quickly and cutleries were replaced after entrée(fancy). The Bolognese was delicious. Now onto the«could be improved». It is quite pricey for such average Italian flavour. Spaghetti marinara was on the salty side and the Fettucini Gamberi was so average it became a let down. The bruchetta(not sure if that how you spell it sorry) was $ 5 per piece. It felt like the kitchen went too generous on the butter, and the whole entrée went up three levels in oiliness. Overall, the meals were not so horrendous that it tasted terrible, but rather it makes you feel like you could unscrew a jar of sauce and replicate the same thing at home. Compare to Sienna’s in Leederville — I would go to Siennas for better flavour, but would try Topolinis again for its chicken parmigiana and salad. Thank you for a lovely night.

This is one of my favourite ‘special occasion” restaurants and we have been going there ever since they opened. It is situated in the Warwick cinema complex and despite the comings and goings of theatre patrons it is quiet inside. The décor is nothing remarkable but the chairs are comfortable and the waiters are friendly and on top of their game. If you have a Grandcard you can score a 10% discount on your food. The food is Italian and I have never had a bad meal there. All the usual pasta suspects are present and I can recommend their lasagne as being up there with the best I have tried. Another standout is the pollo avocado — chicken breast stuffed and served on avocado with green salad or hot vegies.(YUM) They also offer a range of pizzas from a wood-fired oven and they look pretty fine but I have not tried them yet. deserts are chosen from a display cabinet and include tiramisu, cheesecakes and a variety of tortes and mudcakes plus frozen Italian desserts like Tartufo. The bar offers a good range of wines, beers and spirits or you can b.y.o. with no corkage. It is a rarity for a restaurant in Perth to last so long but this is one place which deserves its success.

What’s not to love about Topolinis? The perfect pre/post movie rendezvous where you can sit in the ambient lit and cosy restaurant and chat comfortably before or after sitting in complete silence. It seems almost romantic here all the time although I have never dined here for such purposes. From garlic bread to(if you have room) cake for dessert you will be completely satisfied with your experience. Because of its proximity to the cinemas the service and food are surprisingly prompt. I have tried the bolognaise here and the Caesar salad and both were delicious and quite excessive with a full liquor licence you can enjoy a wine or a cocktail with your meal and Topolinis has great bargain nights(as seen in my photos) where meals are $ 15.
