By far the best chinese food we have had! Salt and chili crispy prawns are amazing! Sizzling black pepper beef tastes just like it does in Taiwan! Garlic kailan is also a favourtie! Service is average but with food like theirs it doesn’t matter!

Always seems to be busy and the food is on a par with many Northbridge restaurants without the travel and parking hassles. We have not tried the yum cha yet but the 3 or 4 meals we had in the evening have all been good, especially the scallops with ginger!

I normally come here for yum cha on weekends and have found it to be quite good. One advantage over Northbridge yum cha is that there are plenty of parking spots. Although it can get busy I’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table but it pays to get your timing right so I try get there 11 for no wait. I’ve also been here for dinner a couple of times and was pleasantly surprised. Most of the dishes were tasty and well portioned.

They do yum cha for lunch here. I came during the weekday. The Yum cha wheeled on the trolley were coldish warm. Maybe it was the weekday and the restaurant was 1⁄3 full. Food tasted standard nothing to rave about. Service was quick and the food came out quick. Not many yum cha places north of the river so I will have to settle for this. Why can’t we get great NOR yum cha place that the City and SOR folks get to have!

We were there last Sunday for yum cha. There were 3 of us. Service was very poor. Except for the lady pushing the cart, most of the other wait staff didn’t appear to have been trained to work the room. We sat for ages and were bypassed as if we were invisible. We literally had to stand and wave to get noticed. TIP: Sit near the kitchen!!! The food, when it finally came around, was warm, not steaming hot, and the squid tentacles were soggy. We felt the standard has dropped in this restaurant. Finally, to add insult to injury, we were charged for using our Visa Card, an exorbitant 2%. We will not be returning. Which is a great shame since there’s a paucity of good Chinese restaurants in the Northern Suburbs.

Very friendly service and not to badly priced for chinese these days. The yum cha is amazing here. Very busy but nice. I’m a sucker for omlette and their bbq pork omlette was a winner for me. Lovely atmosphere, so of the furniture(chairs) need recovering but otherwise beautiful. You can’t go passed the fried icecream I feel but the banana fritter was just as good.

Today was my first time eating lunch instead of dinner at Serenade Palace. The waitresses always had a pleasant demeanour about them as they wheeled their carts of food around from table to table. So when they got around to your table, you had the choice of many different dishes. After having a small conversation in Chinese with the waitress, I decided on getting some crab rolls, sliced pork, sticky rice, green tea and sweet ‘n’ sour sauce. All reasonably priced too! Serenade Palace is definitely a place to go for a group meal or for family night or even a romantic dinner for two. No doubt I will heading there again! Zaijian!(Goodbye in Chinese)

Yum Cha at this place? Yum, Cha don’t want to miss out! Fair prices, big selection. Delicious food and darn good dumplings. I loved the steamed dumplings but have to say that deep fried squid creation thingy with various onions and peppers was amazing. The tea was tasty and hot, however I would have appreciated some better service to keep our pot full and requests granted. Alas they were busy as they apparently always are, so I can get over it. Dim Sum, yummmmmmmm.

What an accidental find(for me). Was craving yum cha after mundane rigours of daily life and thought I’d have drive to Northbridge. This place has my Ching Ching from now on. This lotus flower serves great yum cha in the precinct of a typical shopping centre that offers additional convenience. Loved it.

So I’m craving dim sum, preparing to go either to North bridge or Vic park to get some quality dumplings, pork buns and pork ribs why oh why is my yum cha so far away. It never occured to me that there was such a great place hidden in the Northern suburbs. It is usually pretty busy and sometimes hard to get the waitperson’s attention but regardless of that the food is gread. The wierd textures and flavours going crazy in your mouth. If you are a fan of this cuisine you must come and try. If you like your every day Chinese like your szechuan, satay and mongolian dishes they have these as well but they are $ 17-$ 20 a dish, I think the dim sum is a lot cheaper AAAH yum cha yum chaaaaaaa.
