Southern Cross Meats is my all time favourite Butcher shop. Run by Jason and Bill who are outstanding both as butchers and community members, being heavily involved in Surf Life Saving. They are always friendly and smiling, I don’t think I have ever seen either one of them having a bad day. This is definitely where the locals shop and they know just about all of their customers personally.
The meat is top quality and I love their speciality section with the Southern Fried chicken which is amazing and their Thai chicken steaks, another favourite. My family adore their chicken patties which actually taste like they have some chicken in them, and also their shaslicks which are succulent and fat free.
Nothing is ever too much trouble here and there is always service with a smile, the odd joke and lots of banter.
