Catering to the neighbouring business park and surrounds, Oggis offers a full day’s worth of dining. In the mornings there is the typical hot and cold breakfast options along with much needed coffee. The wait on coffee varies depending on the thoroughfare from the business park but is typical of an early morning rush. At lunch time there is a range of the usual Italian-come-Australian dishes, pizza, pasta and the somewhat unusual option of fast food Asian dishes(sweet and sour pork, honey chicken, chilli beef, noodles, etc.). The quality matches the price point and is reasonable to expect of a restaurant of this nature. Dining can be takeaway or table service. I have not dined for dinner but the menu appears to be the same as lunch, minus the Asian dishes. For a no fuss, filling, reasonably priced meal, Oggis is your choice in this area.

I must have driven past this place hundreds of times before I realised it was there. It wasn’t until a friend asked me what I thought of it. When I told her that I had no idea that there was a decent Italian restaurant within a few kilometres of my house, she suggested we go and have dinner there with a few mates. The food is good. The pasta is nicely cooked and well presented, tasting exactly the way that a good pasta dish should. The service is generally okay. Not fantastic, but not terrible. Sometimes the waiters and waitresses can be a little abrupt, but that’s not common enough to put you off going. They also do takeaway, and if I am craving a pizza to eat in front of the TV, then Café Oggi is where I prefer to get it from. They tend to have the nicest bases and decent quality ingredients for the toppings. The prices aren’t what you’d call cheap, but they’re not terrible either. A large pizza and a drink will not leave you with much change from a $ 20 note. Nutshell: Good food. Okay service.

For when I feel like great pizza, but can’t be bothered driving out to Lygon St, Café Oggi on Burwood Hwy is the next best thing. I find the later I get my pizza the better because the base sits longer and is airier. Café Oggi is not just Pizza, they offer all the Italian fare you would expect from a top end Italian restaurant. And with prices to match. The pasta is okay, but for what I’m paying I’d expect more. The take-away menu is pretty reasonable, and as a student, that is the menu I am more familiar with. I have eaten in the restaurant once, which was thoroughly enjoyable. It has a large dining area, and can get quite loud, but it’s not loud like a lot of restaurants are when they are full. I tend to opt toward the take away because the restaurant prices are substantially more than the take away prices.
