First impression: not authentic. This place is almost like a restaurant. There’s seating inside and outside. Not like your typical Vietnamese bakery. The bread was nice although small. They have a range of sandwiches to choose from. I had to ask them to make banh mi(Vietnamese pork roll). Pâté was good and their butter similar to Sydney Vietnamese bakery. I’m quite disappointed in the size and price. It was quite expensive for a small Vietnamese roll. They also used dried fried onions and the chilli was not hot at all. Overall I think this place caters for westerners.

This place is the bomb! Got $ 7? Get here and fill your belly with some magical vietnamese rolls or bahn mi. They are brilliant. There is a selection of bakery goodness available too. From Bread rolls to donuts. Coffee to a selection of hot pie and treats. This place is a Prahran icon in my eyes and stomach!

I love this bakery. I am addicted to their Banh mi. So fresh and so tasty. I actually have to stop myself from coming here everyday. Service is really quick and if you’re in the mood, you may want to grab yourself a sweet treat. Love N Tran.

This seems like a bit of a local institution. I only really know of it because a friend that I see a fair bit lives not far away, and she insisted I come in here, knowing I like good bakeries. Make no mistake, this place is a very busy little shop. Every man and his dog must come in here. It’s so insanely cheap to grab a few rolls and other bits and pieces, and the quality is pretty damn good. I used to be a baker and pastry chef, so I’ve got very high standards for the stuff they sell here, but they do it really well. If you’re nearby and need something for lunch, you need to stop here. Seriously.

N Tran is the biggest bargain ever. Crunchy white rolls, tasty fresh fillings. Largely below the $ 6 mark. Seriously, what more could you want. After a bit of a re-vamp earlier last year I was worried that this cute little Vietnamese bakery would loose its charm(and low prices). But alas, it is the same as ever. And thank god for that.

Holy moly this place is good! I don’t know what they do here but you just want to keep coming back time and time again. The only logical explanation as to why it’s so good is that they might put MSG in the bread, who knows. Something that I do know though is that they have the price right, it is incredibly cheap for what you get. By far the best place to come for a sandwich. I also really like the satay chicken they have. Don’t be surprised if there is a big queue when you get there, you only have to wait just wait a couple of minutes as the service is very efficient.
