I climb the stairs up to Jenny Port Gallery, it is conveniently located for my gallery walk around Richmond on Albert Street, where most of the galleries are and just upstairs from Anita Traverso Gallery. Another art dealer shares the office space upstairs and another gallery space, so don’t judge this gallery by the paintings hanging in the stairwell or in the office space at the top of the stairs. Wait until you turn the corner and see the main gallery area
Jenny Port Gallery is a commercial gallery that represents emerging and mid-​career contemporary Australian artists. I’ve seen some great exhibitions here and particularly enjoy seeing the work of Simon Perry, the sculptor who created the Public Purse in the Burke Street Mall.
