Vaucluse Tea House is nestled within the ground of the wonderful Wenworth’s Vaucluse House. The location is very picturesque and secluded. The Tea house is ideal for a posh breakfast or lunch treat to spoil someone special perhaps. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The Tea House offers seating inside as well as outside. I opted to sit outside as it was a fresh morning so wanted to enjoy the day :). The house is surrounded by wildlife so was nice to see all the birds out and singing while I selected what I wanted. I decided I would order the Breakfast Soufflé. The waiter had my morning hot chocolate out promptly and was even kind even to offer to turn on the outside heater if I required. The meal was brought out within minutes and the waiter wished«Bön appetite». The Breakfast Soufflé was composed of Bacon, cheddar and eggs with tomato jam on sour dough toast. The cheddar and eggs were delicious and I loved the tomato jam. They all mixed really well together on the sour dough toast. I was certainly full after the dish and at $ 16 that’s a reasonable cost for the dish. The place also offers high tea and other fancy options that would be ideal for a ladies day out. Enjoyed the food here and would return again for sure.

I rarely give 1 star reviews but I feel this place warrants one. Came here for high tea for Mother’s Day with the fam and had a horrible experience. The surrounding was lovely and the food was fine however the service was appalling. 3 of our party of 10 never got their tea, not a figure of speech, we ate through the scones, sandwiches and desserts but never got our tea despite asking them numerous times over an hour. At first the waitstaff advised they’re getting through all the English breakfast and earl grey first, then they said they’re busy and in the end we were ridiculed and told to calm down, we’ll get our tea. At that price range per person for pre-made afternoon tea, I expected the darn tea served. We complained to the manager on duty after the rude response from the waitress and was simply given the explanation that they’re very busy that day. Well duh, that’s why patrons have to book ahead into specific time slots and confirmed they’re happy with the pre-determined menu. Considering all the available high tea venues in Sydney, I don’t see a point of going back.

Pleasant surprise with good food and good location. Had the Salmon Bruscetta which was really nice. Staff friendly and accommodating, good coffee as well.

By far my favorite place in Sydney! This tea room is located on a stunning secluded property surrounded by beautiful gardens, heritage Vaucluse House and all produce used in the stunning meals are grown and picked from the Estate’s kitchen farm. The vintage, heritage setting is perfect for high tea, breakfast or lunch.

Firstly I have to say that the tea houses are beautiful, located in an old Federation building located in gardens next to the historic Vaucluse house. So if you’re looking for a beautiful setting to have lunch or a tea party, this is it! I happened to go here just for High Tea, and whilst the high tea was lovely — champagne, tea, scones, cakes, savouries, etc. I did feel the price($ 45) was a tad steep for what you actually got. Luckily(as a result of being dressed up in Victorian/Edwardian gear) I was wearing a corset, otherwise I would have left feeling a lot more hungry than I actually did! I know you can get much cheaper high teas elsewhere in Sydney but you don’t always get the surroundings you have here, so I suppose that is something you have to factor into price. Beside that, the service was lovely, waiters were attentive, parking was free(score!) and afterwards we took ourselves up to Vaucluse house to go on a guided tour — something that I suggest everyone else do as well!

This tea house is tucked away on the grounds of Wentworth — Vaucluse house has some mighty pretty gardens. We went here for the high tea and weren’t disappointed. The champagne and tea flowed really well. It was $ 45 for the high tea, and we went dressed up in our Victorian regalia to ensure that we got the actual feel of the whole era in one. The 3 tiered cake holders were just adorable and the bites to eat on it were just as succulent. Well worth a trip out here to socialise with some friends over a cuppa and enjoy the greenery. I do have to say however that I love love loved the tea cups. The china made my heart sing. Ahhhhh tea!!! My other love! They have free parking on site as well if you would like to drive out here. Alternatively there are buses that go past the estate.

Nice place for lunch, we didn’t need a booking, just rocked up on a Saturday. Inside was booked out with a function so we needed to sit outside, unfortunately it was bit of a rainy day and they didn’t have much of a contingency plan as many of the tables and chairs were wet despite being under umbrellas. That aside, lovely food, coffee and service. Small menu, but what they do, they do tastely well. Sort out your outside wet weather seating situation and you’ll be sorted! Oh,(Free) car parking available as part of the grounds

This stunning art deco building is set inside the vast Vaucluse House grounds, with plenty of parking for patrons. Escape to another world amid carefully tended gardens and manicured lawn extending to the Harbour. Open for breakfast, lunch and high tea. For brekky, try toasted banana bread with honecomb butter, or portobello mushroom omelette with truffle oil and pecorino. Lunch? Organic chicken, leek and fennel pie with creamed sprouts, or flathead fillets with aioli and hand cut chips. It’s hard to go past the flourless chocolate and hazlenut torte with farm cream for dessert. High tea on the Harbour at $ 35 per person gets you an assortment of scrumptious finger sandwishes, like chicken and tarragon; and smoked salmon, cream cheese and caper… homemade scones… tarts… cakes… Bookings essential.

Vaucluse House is a bit like Sydney’s answer to an enchanted garden. The historic estate, which once belonged to a English barrister, is a maze of formal gardens busting with flora, creeks, old stables, kitchen quarters and of course the house itself. It is easy to get lost here — the property which is almost 30 acres is incredibly well kept and stunningly beautiful. Wandering around you may feel as if you’ve stepped back in time. The Vaucluse House Tea Rooms offer a chance to sit amongst the estate and enjoy, you guessed it, High Tea. In a remarkably relaxed and peaceful setting, fine tea with jam and scones are the staples of this affair as is a party of 4 or more($ 20 pp). If High Tea doesn’t take your fancy the Tea Rooms also offer a café style breakfast and lunch menu. Sundays are a special day at the Tea Rooms with live jazz music and a special two course lunch menu.
