The chips were cheap but the rest was overpriced. It’s fine for a local fish and chip shop, certainly not worth a detour though. Sometimes you just have a craving for fish and chips that won’t go away. In addition, it was the only local seafood store which stocked crabs come Christmas. The others didn’t believe they could justify buying whole crabs. They were pretty cheap too, so if you’re looking for cooked whole crab for a Christmas treat they’ve got it.

Every suburb needs its local fish and chip shop, that place that you can always get a cheap serve of tasty fish and chips covered in chicken salt. Quick, if not overly friendly, service, and homemade burgers and salads. Central 7 Seafood ticks all those boxes for me. You get what you would expect, battered or crumbed local fish with a big slice of lemon to squeeze, and a mountain of crispy chips. The salads, which have become a staple of takeaway shops in the last decade, looked a little underwhelming but were surprisingly tasty. They have the option of platters or feasts for groups, and even cater for party orders. A good local takeaway, well worth a visit.
