Tranmere Meats must suffer a little from their location, in the middle of Tranmere halfway between Glynburn Rd and St Bernards, it’s a case of you need to know they’re there. So, officially, NOW, you know they’re there — take the trip to find some of the best meat you can get around Adelaide. These guys have marinated joints of meat that are so tender they’re to die for, they inject the marinade into the meat and vacuum pack it — throw it in a webber and you’ll have the most juicy, succulent roast you’ve had in your life. I’m about to head there myself and pick us up a marinated lamb roast for the Christmas break. I guess this is where I get to throw in the cheesiest butcher line — their meat really is a cut above the rest — sorry, had to get that out of my system. There’s a team here, preparing perfect cuts of meat and making succulent sausages. I’ve been to a lot of butchers, some cheaper, some do particular things really well, but I can honestly say that I haven’t had anything from here that hasn’t been excellent quality. You’ll also find prawns here around Christmas and Easter. It does pay to order if you need a specific cut or joint of meat. Oh, yes, and look out for their frenched chicken wings — trimmed and segmented to make perfect finger food for parties.
