I can’t count the number of times I’ve walked past this place on my way to Toowong village and read the signs for«Aussie Burgers». So without any ideas on what an Aussie Burger was I sat down and got myself the Star Burger, which is their signature burger. The burger came with the typical stuff, swiss cheese, bacon, pickles and onions and… beetroot. Yes beetroot, I’ve had it in salads, juice, roasted, steamed, but never in a burger. After the initial shock of having beetroot in my burger, I took my first bite… which got a whole lot of bread and beet but nothing else. Unfortunately the burger was too stacked that it made it difficult to get a full bite of anything. That being said, the meat was well season and juicy, bread was tasty, and bacon. The burger also came with a side of fries and aioli — nothing special here. Service was average. Order and pay at the register, take a number back to your seat, wait for food. Took a few minutes for my iced long black to come, another 10 – 15 minutes for the burger. Décor and ambience of the place isn’t very noteworthy either. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Mostly normal tables/chair setup with a few high tables outside. It definitely a place I would go to chat with a friend though.

Went for breakfast today due to everything else being closed and on recommendation from questionable youth and Donald Trump supporter. I assume the poor quality is intentional and based on a strategy assuming little repeat business but it still stings to get served slop when I’m at my most vulnerable before breakfast. I’m a professional economist, and I believe that eventually competition will dispense with vendors such as these, but I recognise that the invisible hand doesn’t work instantaneously or perfectly. Every day that you continue to assault the docile citizens of Toowong with your low quality scraps is an affront not just to them but to the free market itself. Soon may you fall. Sic semper tyrannis.

Friendly service as always & being short on time & raining I decided to order the Soup of the Day — pumpkin(which tasted quite sweet) with soggy croutons & for $ 2 extra cheesy toast which was the highlight.

I love anything walking distance that combines good food, excellent service and good beer. This is one of those places. We checked it out shortly after they opened and had their two-4-one pizzas(at the time it was dine in or take away). They were delicious, huge and really different flavours, which was a good bonus. We also went back and tried their pasta(again they had a deal on– two pastas plus a bottle of wine for $ 30). Talk about value! It was great! It was fresh, tasty and a good serving. They’ve cut back on their deals abit but hopefully they will bring them back as they were great value for Money! However I will def be back.

How good is this place? New to the village and a very welcome addition. The Lamb Pita was amazing and the draft beer was cold and original!

Stellarossa is part of the new dining precinct in Toowong Village. It is in a great location and I can imagine that once the rest of the precinct is finished it will turn Toowong into a buzzing little hub of activity. Unfortunately for me Stellarossa really didn’t hit the spot. I guess with chains/franchises like this you are always faced with the lack of originality, vibe or excitement. But I still had hope as it is in a cool location and it had so much potential. I had a coffee and the avocado smash and feta toast. The coffee was good — nothing to write home about but definitely drinkable. The avocado was overripe and just kind of gross… You could tell it had been pre-smashed and put in a container for convenience. Yuck. The feta was slimey and gross as well. Would I go back? For food? No way. For coffee? Maybe, if I had no other option.
