Mangosteen

When I go out for dinner, I look for a comfortable place with a warm ambience, great food and service. Mangosteen fulfills this requirement to some degree but leaves me somewhat wanting. The seating is comfortable enough for the dining experience, but the room is too large and reverberant leading to a noisy environment which I found hard to relax in. At least it wasn’t as noisy as some of those modern cafes around the place. The service was very good indeed, friendly and thorough. Our food arrived within 20 mins of ordering entrées and the main arrived 10 mins later which suited us just fine having our grand daughter with us and playing Uno to pass the time with her. The food itself was great. I enjoyed the crispy beef, my wife had some noodles with chicken and the little one had cold rolls. The wine list was reasonably extensive and I managed to find a fine red to suit the meal. The prices were fair and I’d certainly go again, but not for a quiet intimate dinner.

Have eaten at this restaurant many times, great service, good wine list, authentic and delicious food. Try the Red Duck Curry it’s amazing. Staff are always friendly, well recommended– give it a try!
