An institution in Taringa for Mexican. The best and one of the earliest Montezuma’s. The owners and the food here has been consistantly great ever since it started. You know what you get here, the portions are generous, the food hot, fresh and very very tasty. Prices are pretty good too. It gets busy, but they always seem friendly and are happy to take walk in’s. I love sitting at their booths, it can be nice outside, but sometimes a bit noisy from Moggill Road. It’s a favourite spot for our family Birthday dinners always popular with everyone in the family.

I have seen Montezumas around Birsbane many times and decided to finally give it a go. I had pretty good expectations because I try and sample Mexican food as much as i can and have become some what of a self proclaimed Mexican critic. The menu is good and does have all the Mexican classics. I do enjoy their corn chips that they use for their Nachos because i often say that even if the toppings are good the corn chips can ruin it. For main course i had the chicken burritos which for some reason came covered in melted cheese to the point where i could only taste the cheese and after a while it was quite sickening. This was a bit of a turn off for me and I think it would be a while before i could try it again.

Arrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiba arrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiba. Beach towels as table cloth, this is the Mexican Cantina I want to go to. There are awesome little mocktails and cocktails, you order drinks from the bar. I like this place because of the music, the staff and the mexican rice. I’ve had mexican rice in my time, but for some reason the rice at the Taringa Montezuma’s is top of the line tastey, zingy, and they must put something in it, because I can’t get enough. Plus, if you download a voucher on the website, you get a free dip to go with your free chips if you order 2 main meals. Meals are great, they range from $ 15-$ 20 usually and the Taquito’s are crispy little delights you can’t go past. If you are after a Mexican place that won’t hurt your brain, try Montezuma’s in Taringa, it’s got easy parking in the complex, it’s got a very relaxed laid back atmosphere and it has a killer chilli con carne. Value for money and definetely a place you can bring your family. Even fit a pram into. Try it, get your taste buds excited, drool a little when the burrito comes out, soak up your cocktail. It’s a great place for a great dinner(usually a bit dead during lunch times).
