P J O’Rourke wrote that if Vietnam ever wanted to be taken seriously on the world financial stage it should give consideration to changing the name of its currency from the«Dong» At some stage someone must have thought that naming a fast food restaurant«Wong Kee» would be good for business. I hope it wasn’t some old school business adviser with a misplaced sense of humour. Anyway, ‘Wonky’ it is and has always been. Its in the arcade that runs between Pitt St. and Castlereagh St.- opposite the Downing Centre Court Complex on Castlereagh St. and opposite World Square on Pitt St. If you want a great Laksa or chicken soup(see photo) Wonky is the place to go. Cheap as chips, yummy straightforward and honest Singaporean /Malaysian/Chinese. You will be in and out in under 2 minutes for takeaway. I’ve eaten in a few times and the sheer volume of dedicated Wonky fans has to be seen to be believed. Do yourself a huge favour and check it out. Its a genuine 4 star joint in my kindle.
