The Old Civic

Great food, great coffee — the service though was what prompted the review. Can’t think of anything to improve. Keep it up!

Brilliant coffee and a great food menu… this is my local… keep up the great work guys!

Very good fresh food and great drinks. I would give it the full 5 stars if the barista stopped making so much noise as it is very noisy already. But love all the food. Coffee great and please try the horchata drink. My daughter loves the teddy bear glass shake.

Growing up 30 minutes from Mexico, I’m always on the lookout for a. good Mexican breakfast. With breakfast tacos, and huevos rancheros on the menu, I was happy to find this local café when we made the move to the ‘burbs. The breakfast burger is nice, served on a brioche bun. The Huevos Rancheros are great, although I prefer traditional recipes.
They have a nice selection of sweets. I bought two tarts to surprise my better half on a Friday arvo.
Coffee is campos, my favourite. it’s usually fantastic, but had one on saturday afternoon, and both my partner and mine tasted burnt :(

Omnomnom… Literally!
From the moment I laid eyes on the burrito bowl served to the person sitting next to me I knew I wanted to order it! Imagine a piled tortilla bowl with creamy guacamole, shredded beef, corn and salad — every mouthful was delicious!
We also ordered the pulled pork panini which did not disappoint… Super tender chunks of pork in a gooey caramelised sweet sauce… Every mouthful was a delight!!! HIGHLY recommend this place!

We heard the coffee was good and it is — but more importantly the food was fantastic. The Rueben was particularly tasty and reminds me authentic US food.
Service and speed were also really impressive given how busy it was.
We will be back .
Kids menu was also wide enough for them to find something (not always easy with 3 in our tribe).
The kids vanilla and toasted marshmallow milkshake is a must.

This area had no, and I mean NO decent eateries until the New Civic opened. Their menu is great, the atmosphere is bright and chatty and the staff are really into what they do. Thank you for opening! And good luck!!!

We dropped in to Forest Way Shopping Centre to grab some groceries & were happily surprised to see a new venue where Civic Video had resided for many years. «The Old Civic» has opened as an American style café diner with a great «down home» Southern style fit out. The well thought out menu has a nice mixture of tex-​mex, diner & café staples for breakfast & lunch along with Campos coffee. Kids are well catered for too.
We got friendly, passionate service, delicious food & finally for Forest Way… GOOD COFFEE.
Can’t wait to go back to try the lunch menu!
