Been coming here for years. Nothing amazing but great for what it is. Good beer selection, great prices and surprisingly delicious food. On Saturdays they have a pretty good jazz band. Well worth dropping in if you want a cheap steak.

Full disclosure: I’m giving this place four stars for what it is, being a lowerish-​middle-​class pub.
The beers are cheap at $ 5/​schooner. They have a great selection (Redback, Minimum Chips, 150 lashes, and various usual selections). They have an amazing steak sandwich for only $ 12 — it will blow your mind.
Whenever we find ourselves near Central just wanting a beer, we wind up at Taylor’s. I hope it never changes.
