Came for an early bite — 6pm Wednesday night. The restaurant was empty, but had a pretty good atmosphere. Our waiter was Spanish and added to the ambience There were 4 of us and we went with his Tapas recommendations — Calamari, meatballs, scallops, chorizo, octopus, prawns — all very good. Definitely be back!

I have been here a few times and I would say its the nicest of the string of Spanish restaurants on this strip. It also has a bit of bar seating which is nice to have at a restaurant. The food is very good. The paella takes about 30 minutes and was worth the wait. The banquet menus are also a good deal if you are with a group. For dessert I had the churros. They come with a light chocolate sauce as well as a thicker caramel fudge. The downside was the service the last time I went. They didn’t seem to have their tables organized as people kept coming up to take our order. We also ordered garlic bread and when they brought it to us, they realized they had doubled our serving, so then took it away from us… not exactly necessary. But hey, a bat didn’t shit in my drink so I was happy.

Probably my favourite tapas bar in Sydney. The garlic prawns are to die for. They put so much garlic in there your gums will hurt after you eat them. The patatas bravas and garlic mushrooms are also fantastic. I tried the paella here once and wasn’t a fan so my advice is to stick to tapas.

Oh yeah, this is the place. Saddle up to the bar counter and let’s do some tapas. Sausages(chorizo), sliced meats, cheeses, marinated ‘shrooms, garlic shrimo, etc, etc, etc, Properly aged Rioja and you are ready for more tapas. What is good about this place is that it is small and lots of cozy places to sit. Low lighting and fine clientele. It is on Liverpool Street in the Downtown area where there are 4 – 5 other Spanish restaurants within a block of it. You can taste your way from one end of Liverpool Street to the other. In three nights of doing such things, our small band of tapas eaters all voted for this place — not to say it was a runaway election. This is a very good section of town, since we were only a few blocks from our rooms at the Hilton.

Tapas in Sydney can be hit and miss; expensive here, unauthentic there. Boring here, pretentious there. Happily, Miro Tapas is none of those things, but is stocked full of yummy foods! Between four we ordered the capsicum, chorizo, garlic mushrooms, meatballs and fried potatoes and loved it all, with a special shout out going to the capsicums — delicious! We also enjoyed a large jug of fruity sangria, and amazing churros for dessert. The service was mainly friendly, but we felt we’d really overstayed our welcome when at 9.30, the bill arrived without prompting. A friend got cash out, and also found herself locked out of the restaurant! The lack of windows in Miro doesn’t do it for me, but overall the room felt warm and comfortable; great vibes for catching up with friends, dining with a loved one or taking a group out!
