I loved the coffee here! And it has a cute interior. The haloumi stack was good value, so much haloumi and the salsa verde was a nice addition. The only disappointing thing is that it wasn’t very hot when served. Would also be a great grab and go spot for lunch sandwiches.

Best coffee I’ve had in Sydney so far. Had the bacon and egg roll. Egg was perfect, slightly running so it oozed into the rest of the bun when you bit into it. Yum! Service excellent, food and coffee out just after I decided on a seat.

This place is in my regular rotation of coffee places. They serve Little Marionette Coffee which is one of the great local blends that is unfortunately hard to find. There’s a little bit of seating inside, but it fills up quickly around lunch time. I’ve tried their milkshakes and they’re good as well. Their pulled pork burger is really good. Unfortunately one of the sandwiches I got here once had un-fried bacon on it — I mean I know it’s still cooked and OK to eat, but why would you NOT fry bacon?! That’s why I can’t give more than three stars.

Grab a pulled pork burger. The flavours are unbelievable! It’s like being punched in the face with a tangy piece of melt in the mouth pork. The place looks clean and fresh, with plenty of seating available inside. Four of us ordered burgers and although they were busy, the food arrived hot and fresh very promptly. Will be back to try more items from the menu!

Kafeine served up one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. The Haloumi was delicious, fresh, and packed with flavor. I even came back the next day because it was so good. They are obviously very popular because they were non-stop busy each time I was there. This place is worth the stop if you’re nearby or visiting Sydney.

Really good pulled pork & slaw bun! It def exceeded my expectations!!! I love their menu, such a variety & there was a ‘secret burger’ which I want to try next time!

I was keen to try Kafeine as I am something of a fan of their Balmain café The look and feel were similar, and the healthy options that are part of their edge are more visible now. My Bircher muesli was a steal at $ 5 but a little on the sweet side for me. Then again, my tolerance for sugar is not that high so it might just be me being an I quit sugar geek …

Good food, fast friendly service, good prices. I loved my juice, best juice I have had throughout my travels through NZ, Cairns and Sydney

The white and light wood interior welcomed us into this very calming lunch spot on a hot muggy afternoon. I was immediately impressed with the large selection. But being super hungry I made the quick choice and chowed down on a ‘angry club’ while my friend had the fried chicken sandwich. Luckily, my sandwich was super tasty and really filling. Great value. The green juice I ordered was fantastic. Best part was the very fast service which is key for a CBD lunch spot.

Changed ownership, now called Kafeine. Appears to be exactly the same as when it was Loaf & Devotion. Had breakfast this morning and it was top notch.

Update: have now tried the pulled pork burger during a not so busy time — soo much flavour!!! Do get the burgers instead of the salads or sandwiches here!

This new precinct that was once stood Loaf & Devotion has been bought recently by the owner of Kafeine in Balmain. Everything you love about the old place are still here. The clean and modern décor, the friendly staff, the Campos coffee they serve, and the coffee quote sign. And most importantly the beloved menu stays. Let me set the scene. I woke up this morning craving pulled pork burger. I might’ve had one too many wines last night to have caused this craving. Anyway, so I remember the best place to have one near where I work. Counting down to lunchtime was painful, but finally the time comes, and with determination I rushed to get my fix and to my surprise the sign and the name of the place changed. Not to be deterred, I ventured in and was relieved to find the same menu still standing there tall and proud. Of course I had the Burgerzilla. Set in a brioche bun, it’s full of pulled pork, beef, bacon, cheese and onion goodness! It’s tasty, tender, melt in your mouth delicious. Definitely made my day!

Great place. Loved the Texas pulled port sandwich. Very yummy. Soup of the day also super flavor. Loved it. Eat in or carry out.

We’re in the city for a couple days and were looking for a great café with reasonably priced coffee and breakfast. This place was awesome! Clean, modern look, delicious long blacks, and yummy food. And the workers were so sweet and nice. Great café. And about $.50/less per coffee than most other places we’ve seen! Highly recommend!

It took great courage for me to betray my café and come here for a coffee this morning. I have had this place bookmarked for a while and was excited at the prospect of trying out their good ol’ coffee! I love entering their café and having bright lights that wake me up, the place is quite spacious compared to other cafes around. Their coffee is(slightly) more expensive than the other cafes in Wynyard but I’ll let that slide cause my flat white was flat out awesome. Velvety foam and rich coffee aroma. Perfect. Only bumma was I forgot to ask them to put in 1 sugar. Guess I’ll have to come back next time!

I was so amazed by this place! Really, I originally thought this place was just some weird bakery when I walked past. Obviously I never looked in. Came here for a late lunch(2pm) and they were still plenty busy. After reading a couple reviews, we obviously ordered a burgerzilla. It was… AMAAZZINNGGG. I took my time deciding which chicken offering to take, and in the end I ordered a BuffalO.M.G. It was nice, but no where near as OMG as the burgerzilla. And for $ 10, it doesn’t get any better.

Load & Devotion is the gold standard in pull-pork burgers in Sydney. You’ll find the shop works on a simple roster of using sandwich grills to get the premium taste out of everything they do. From chicken schnitzel sandwiches to the Burgerzilla, you will find a great range of different types of things to suite your needs of course complemented by coffee, milkshakes and other cold drinks. It’s a rather small store and can get get quite busy, it’s only really open for breakfast and lunch — there is a few seats here and there outside but it’s best to come by and pick something up rather than actually try and sit down unless you come before the lunch rush around 12 – 1, after or before are great for sitting down with a small group of 3 – 4. The burgers rival that of Mary’s with more options so try it out if your looking for something fast and will fill you up for the rest of the day :)

Really tasty! Came back for the second day in a row today. I have had the Texas and the Maui pulled pork rolls. They’re fantastic. My only criticism is that I ran out of food.

I had the Peri Peri chicken sandwich and coffee. While both were better than I could have made at home, I was left with the underwhelming feeling that it could have been better.

Went here today with wifey. She had the burgerzilla and I tried the Texas style pulled pork. OMG! Texas style was the bomb! The guy behind the counter said the top 3 on the menu were the most popular so I’m definitely coming back to try the other 2… With or without wifey :) I’ll add the last star after I’ve tried the next 2 pulled pork burgers!

Best cheap(sub-$ 15) eats I’ve found so far in Sydney CBD. They’ve changed the name of the Burgerzilla(I was too preoccupied to note the new name) — but it’s still a juicy pulled pork in brioche burger. Not quite together enough to eat 100% by hand but not fully knife and fork material I switched between the two and would have licked the plate clean if I hadn’t been in company. It’s five hours later and I’m involuntarily salivating just writing the review — such is the Pavlovian response that today’s lunch invoked in me. Yum-a-Rama.

There is nothing I loaf better than a good food pun and nothing gets me excited more than a buffalo chicken themed meal(weird), which is why the first lunch I tried on day 1 of our shiny new Kent Street office had to be Loaf & Devotion. Ever the workaholic, I didn’t actually go for lunch until 2.30pm. BuffalO.M.G! They had turned off the grill. So I had an El Loco instead. I approve of this sandwich. Like nachos on a burger and only $ 10. I’m glad I had this as my first meal at L&D because I went back today and the BuffalO.M.G. isn’t all that great. Only the mildest hint of hot sauce, mostly tastes like blue cheese. It could be awesome if you had the option to add more hot sauce. I can see I’m going to have to start carrying a bottle of Frank’s with me everywhere for just such an emergency. The guys behind the counter are cool dudes, the décor looks like they got 84% of the way through decorating and got too busy pulling pork(rude) to finish, and if you sit inside too long you smell like food for the rest of the day. Worth it.

The best pulled pork I’ve ever had. Got the BURGERZILLA and the name is exactly what it tastes like. Bacon, pulled pork, hamburger bee paddy all in one burger. Pure greatness. El Loco was amazing as well. The pulled pork is so flavorful, other ingredients such as guacamole get drowned however. Highly recommended.

If you like your burgers then you have to try the Burgerzilla. An amazing pulled pork burger that will leave you satisfied for the rest of the day. There’s more to the menu than the Burgerzilla but it’s one of the best. Often busy with coffee-goers, there aren’t many tables to sit at so you probably want to get there early.

Love the pulled pork sandwiches here. Always over here for lunch if I need my American food fix. Wish it had more of the smokey flavours of the US to hit the perfect mark but it satisfies my cravings.

Ladies and gents, I have a sad. By my calculations I have been working near Circular Quay for 95 weeks. And, I’m absolutely devo’d — GUTTED even — that I have only discovered the wondrous shops that adorn upper York Street in the past couple of weeks. By my calculations, that means that I have utterly wasted 93 weeks of lunches(and yes, I’m counting leave weeks because I should have been stuffing my face those days too)! Walking past Loaf & Devotion, I spotted a sign boasting«Sydney’s best pulled pork(voted by us)». Psht, I thought, I’ll let my North American roots be the judge of that. I puffed out my chest and sauntered up to the menu board. Hrm, pulled pork, pulled pork, I’ll show them… what’s this, choice? I thought pulled pork was the choice! Not here my friends, not here. You see, L&D offers not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR pulled pork sandwich optionsd. Being a sensible(?) young(?) lady(?) who had dinner plans, I decided not to go for the Burgerzilla which boasts beef, pulled pork, AND bacon and instead took the suggestion of the friendly lady behind the till, opting for the El Loco — pork, black beans, jalapeños, guac, cheese, and greens. While I could have handled many many more jalapeños(I think I counted four in total), this was pretty darn delicious. If anything it might have had a bit too much BBQ sauce, but overall it was a darn good sambo, and rung in at a reasonable $ 10.50. Now I just have to live with the regret of not discovering this place 95 weeks ago.

Dreams do come true, children. And those dreams will set you back a mere $ 11.50. So, I am only going to tell you one thing about this place. And that one thing is this: BURGERZILLA. With a name like that, ordering this bad boy over its menu-dwelling brethren was a mere formality. And boy oh boy, it did not disappoint. Sweet brioche-style soft bun. Giant juicy seasoned juicy patty. A huge serving of sweet, smoky, spicy pulled pork on top, then sizzling bacon on top of that, then cheddar on top of that, then some token salad just because. It was, how you say, sacrelicious. No hyperbole. Doesn’t need ‘em. Just get it all up in your face-hole. Then write me a note thanking me for rocking your world.
