This is a great spot to pick up a bento in the morning for lunch for less than $ 5 and very taste. For those who are trying to keep their figure, you can also buy Onigiri(Japanese Rice Balls) here for $ 1.50. This place has a nice selection of Japanese drinks and snacks, and also have good BBQ Pork Buns(very affordable too).

In comparison to Maruyu(review ), Conveni 8 offers alot more convenience type foods like onigiri and a range of bentos. And in winter it is worth hunting them down for a nice hot butaman(steamed pork roll). While no 551, they can sure hit the spot. As I mentioned in my Maruyu review, for me there are only 2 places worth knowing about in the CBD to find Japanese essential ingredients. The importance of knowing both of them is that they seem to take turns with their specials, so it is worth the effort to compare prices. Besides, they are only a couple of blocks away so it is no massive effort. Check them both out and enjoy. :-)
