I was here twice in three days — its that spectacular! Look for it up the mural-lined stairs. The staff are all super-friendly and I loved having the option for cheese or other small snacks. But of course, the main reason to go are the drinks — every day there are 5 or so specials based on what’s fresh at the market and what the bartenders are inspired by. One night I had an amazing vodka drink with fresh watermelon, while another it was the Subtle Sour(gin, peach bitters, and citrus). I never had to wait long for a drink, which is especially impressive given the complex ingredients.

After hearing all about Bulletin Place, I now know why it receives so much buzz. It’s a cosy bar found after you make your way up some wooden stairs. You wouldn’t know the place existed if you walked straight by it, one of my favourite characteristics. The service was very friendly which I find quite rare at bars. Easily some of the best cocktails(if not THE best) I have had. Bulletin Place offers a seasonal menu which means it’s always changing based on what produce is available. Definitely should be on your places to try!

Arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday night and had to wait about 20 mins to get in. Once inside we were directed to the tall standing table next to the bar and ordered our first drinks. The barman gave us a cleansing drink to cleanse our palettes which I thought was very fancy pants and considerate. Two of us ordered a cocktail from the specials list which changes regularly and the third ordered a dirty martini, extra dirty, which they accommodated with no problem. The waitress then ushered us to a seated table when it became available about 30 mins later, which we thought was great. They really look after you at this bar, the personalised service is top notch.

More style than substance. The drink menu may rotate daily, but last night, every item was some variant of fruit juice and liquor — with the liquor invariably being from brands easy to find anywhere in the world. If they’re going to call themselves«mixologists»(a term honestly past its prime since 2014), I expect some experimentation, not just another variant on gin and juice. There was little local or Australian touch to the experience other than some seasonal fruit juices. Australia produces a wide variety of liquors and liqueurs; why where there none to be found? Of the four drinks we tried, two were well-balanced to both our palates. One was appealing to only one of us. The fourth was far too sweet in general. None were undrinkable, which was a relief given the $ 18.50 cost for most of them. Service was enthusiastic but disorganized. At least three times last night, one server would come to our table to ask if the we had been handled for drinks by the other(or if we still needed to order). We asked one server to let us pay, but we only got the opportunity after the other came by and we repeated the request.

Love the intimate ambience. We were concerned because of the size and the bouncer, but maybe we arrived at the right time cause we were able to get in with no wait. Inside it’s actually table service, so there’s no jostling at the bar, and it’s a lot more orderly inside. Not the best place to party, but great for after-dinner drinks with your date. Prices are a little higher but totally expected from an establishment like this. The cocktails are fun, varied, sophisticated, and I love that the menu illustrates what kind of glass the drinks come on.

Amazing drinks and service!!! A small speak easyish type of joint… Go upstairs and delicious drinks are awaiting you. The drinks change daily, they are created with local products which is a concept that I fully support and love! The server was amazingly knowledgable and friendly. He brought over a pallet cleanser in the cutest lil brown bottle that says poison on it LOL! Music played Semi softly in the background and the apps that they were offering that day were equally as awesome. I loved the attention to detail and local sourcing!

Warm, inviting little bar with staff who clearly love their job and their punters. I stopped in at Bulletin Place before a gig at the Opera House, upon the suggestion of fellow Unilocalers, and honestly could not have loved this place more. Prices were pretty ‘normal’- from memory around $ 18 each for the cocktails, which is very reasonable as they’re inventive and SODELICIOUS. I wish I could remember which one I had now, all I remember is that it contained pear and gin and it was tasty as all get out. Now I want another one.

Impeccable hipster cocktails — and I mean that in the best possible way. True craft, deep appreciation of spirits and knowledge of the locally sourced ingredients that make these drinks sing. The«rhubarb beret» was one of the finest, most balanced cocktails I’ve ever had, and the discussion with the bartender about the Hibiki Harmony(a hard to find Japanese whiskey) was a highlight. Best of all: all the hipstery bearded cuteness but absolutely zero attitude. Perfection.

Excellent place for drinks! Great little bar that’s off of the beaten path. These guys are experts at craft cocktails and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your drinks. If you sit at the bar you’ll be amazed at their speed and accuracy — they clearly know what they are doing. Don’t miss this place!

Bullseye! I love this bar and everything about it! These guys absolutely nail it. I can’t rave enough about it. Ok more detail now that the excitement has been expressed and my adhd recognized haha The first time I went here, it was a little difficult to find, however look for the open door and staircase, follow your nose from there! Climbing the stair case you see all the awards these guys have won, and deservingly so. We reach the top and are greeted by the amazingly friendly staff, seated and offered some table water. They then greet us and ask if we’ve been before, and then go on to explain their whole premise«classic cocktails with a modern twist based on seasonal produce.» Every day these guys go to markets, buy fresh seasonal produce and utilize those ingredients to make some effing awesome drinks! They write the daily menu on butchers paper and there you go — today’s menu! On top of this, every night they open a couple of bottles of wine(if you’re first there you choose the one open for the night — cool!) and various beers. What if your not fussed with the menu you ask??? Well they ask what you like, and then make you something based on those preferences! These guys know their stuff and understand customer service! Overall an absolutely brilliant bar. Amazing staff. Great atmosphere and most importantly astonishing drinks!

Awesome little bar tucked away near Circular Quay– definitely a spot to go if you’re having the whole«where do I go that’s not touristy down near the Quay» dilemma and a spot to go if you just want somewhere really freakin awesome. Don’t be deceived– to get up to Bulletin Place you’ll need to enter on the street level at what looks like a dingy staircase. I was a bit worried that my date was leading me to some terrible lair, but at the top of the stairs a warm, cozy and intimate bar awaits. Bulletin Place rotates their cocktails every day based on what fresh ingredients they can find around, so nothing is ever quite the same. They have 5 cocktails on the board each day, but will make you any sort of traditional cocktail that you want as well. I imagine it could get pretty packed heading into the weekend so my recommendation is to hightail it here as soon as you finish work, post up and enjoy!

Bulletin Place is a hidden gem of a speakeasy, worth the effort to find. Actually, not sure we would have found it, had the bouncer not noticed us looking clueless along the cobblestone alley. Google maps was essential to even find the street. We came here post-Opera on a Saturday and were shocked to find that it was busy, but had no wait. The cocktails are the star of the show. They have a small list of daily cocktails that are driven by local produce and typically feature fresh ingredients. They also know the classics and improvise on request. The quality was high, although I still would rate Blackbird in SF and Pouring Ribbons in NYC as higher quality. The somewhat limited food menu has a rather decent cheeseboard. The décor is simple, somewhat trendy, but definitely intimate. Overall, this is a great place in the CBD for a cocktail.

I probably stood outside for a good 10 minutes the first time I visited Bulletin Place, questioning on what I was missing — The entrance(if you can call it that) looked extremely shady to say the least, but once you go up the stairs and inside — Absolutely loveable! It’s a bit of a squeeze but has to be one of my favorite bars in Sydney. The traditional induction the bartenders give you on your first time is very welcoming, and informative without being pretentious. Needless to say the cocktails are delicious and the menu is always changing. I would not recommend for big groups but it is perfect for almost anything else.

I almost don’t want to write about this place because I want to keep it my secret. Of course many people know about this wonderful hole-in-the-wall bar, which is why on a Friday you will not get in unless you are at the door before 5:30pm. It is easy to miss this hidden gem, as you stroll down the cobblestone ally way it is easy to miss the uninviting door, but as you make your way up the stairs you will be rewarded by the cutest bar with the best cocktails in Sydney. Bold statement to award them with the«best cocktails in Sydney» but you will understand why as soon as you visit Bulletin Place! The bartenders take such pride in their work, creating a new list of cocktail specials to fit with the season. My recommendation is to visit Monday — Thursday, and make sure you arrive at around 6pm as it even gets crowded on a Tuesday. Cocktails are about $ 20, there was one cocktail for $ 10, expensive overall but pretty standard when it comes to cocktail prices.

I don’t know how many times I’ve been here, which alone speaks volumes of the place. Its unmarked, and for the longest time I didn’t know whether it had a proper name. We have a code word, you see. You can hear it whispered down the hall and people start slowly disappearing from their desks. No one says where they’re going, just a friendly nod and its understood. And suddenly the office is empty.

Standing on the cobblestones at bulletin place there is no immediate sign of what little gem is hidden away upstairs. The entrance to the building looks rather uninviting but what is hidden with in anything but. A little rustic and very cosy bulletin place offers an inspiring range cocktails made with love. The bar tenders and waiters are super friendly and very knowledgable. Happy to have a chat to help you find what you’re after. They pride themselves on making sure you enjoy your drinks and like to get creative. The cocktail specials change almost daily. I tried their g&tea which was gin with a chocolate chai chilled tea. Delicious! Loved the atmosphere and the décor and of course finding that place that is hidden in plain sight. Really glad I got to check out this Sydney institution.

Tucked down a lane and found up one flight of stairs you could very possible walk right by the enterance if there is no line up outside. The staff keep a close eye on the patron numbers so there are always enough seats and no one is left standing. The lights were stylish and the design of the bar very hip yet there was no soy or tofu to be seen. The spirit collection covers all the bases and not a drop of quality is spilt. The cocktails are made with fresh seasonal produce so the they are always mixing up something new.

When a few of my classiest, booziest and hip friends suggest I check out a bar because they say«it’s your kind of bar, you’ll love it!», it’s a bit hard to not take their advice. And so it was that I found myself venturing in on an early Monday evening before dinner. Welcomed right away by Rob, we took a seat at the bar and watched Matt mix a few cocktails for other punters while perusing their booze shelves. I spy a very tidy gin collection. He spies some interesting whiskeys. We both spy the giant jar of smoked almonds. After a bit of affable bartender-punter banter we’re off an away sipping on drinks that are made featuring the best of seasonal produce and high quality liquor. We eat a bowl of those almonds. I order another drink. Our almonds get refilled. He says we have to go and I scoff the last nuts in protest.
