History

Established in 2012.

The idea for Airtasker was born in 2011 when founders Tim and Jono were moving apartments and had so many tasks that needed to be done like packing and moving boxes, assembling our new flat pack furniture and then cleaning up the house that we were leaving.

This got us thinking that there had to be a trusted, reliable place where people could find other people to help them with all of these types of tasks — especially when there were so many people looking around for jobs to earn extra money!

Launched in February 2012, Airtasker has so far created over $ 1,000,000 in Australian jobs and gathered a community over 60,000 people that are looking to earn money completing outsourced tasks.

Airtasker also recently launched a new service for business users, which allows companies to easily outsource tasks like promotional staffing, field research and mystery shopping to a project-​managed team of 1 to 1,000 Airtasker field agents.

Meet the Manager

Manager

Hey there, my name is Tim — I’m one of the co-​founders and CEO of Airtasker! We’re here to help people and businesses outsource their home and office tasks to trusted, reliable people in their local community. We enjoy helping people get things done while at the same time helping local community members find new ways to earn extra money.

I’m also one of the founders of Tank Stream Labs — a co-​working space and entrepreneurial community located in the heart of Sydney CBD.

Before starting Airtasker, I was a founding team member and investor in mobile startup amaysim. I’m also a founder and director of a few web startups including Joe Button (online custom shirt design) and Circuit Club (motorsport event management).

In my former years, I worked as a consulting talent agent at Chic Management and before this, spent five years in investment banking at Macquarie Group.
