Friends birthday so we arrived around 8.30pm on a saturday. Went straight the the upstairs area which a bit smaller than downstairs. We ordered the beef burger with chips. After the second bite i couldnt eat any more. It tasted funny like it was a bit off. For dessert i got the waffle which was great so it helped restore some confidence back in the food. Bar staff were friendly and helpful.

This year’s St Patrick’s day marks my 6th consecutive trip here to celebrate the most wonderful day of the year. Just like the new students at Hogwarts, I enter every time with wonderment and surprise as I make my way to the sorting tap. I always get sorted into House Guinness. If there’s one thing I know intimately, it’s Irish pubs. I can say confidently but perhaps not proudly, that I have been in an astonishing amount of them. This one passes with flying tricolours. Food is always top notch but worth noting there isn’t a huge amount in the way of sharing or just snacking options. Like an Irish pub, you’re coming here for a feed! Always a warm welcome and certainly fun being had by staff and punters alike when you swing through the doors. Plenty of screens for sport and a fantastic outdoor area completely for the non smokers to enjoy prime real estate to watch the Surry Hills cat walk in full flow. The upstairs is usually available for booking tables free of charge(I think) and is always good craic. We had an emotional going away here and a gesture by staff who’d realized what was happening and let us stay longer uninterrupted while we said our goodbyes, is one I’ve never forgotten and will always be grateful for. Most places would have hoofed us out the door. That’s the kind of pub you’re getting here. If you’re missing home or want that Irish experience look no further, if it’s raining outside and nearly six o clock you’d sit up waiting to hear the Angelus, that’s how authentic it is.

Bar has a nice vibe and really friendly staff. The food was reallh tastey and they had the beat collection pf condiments I have ever seen at a pub including jerk bbq sause and jalapeño mustard. The condiment game alone jackes it up a full star. Cool joint. Check it out.

Words fail me in an attempt to describe this place. As soon as you arrive, no mater the night, you can immediately hear voices from the crowd inside and out. They could be perched at high-standing tables, or seated a the tables watching sport; or debriefing with friends after another hard slog in the City. Either way, the atmosphere encapsulates you and you immediately feel at home and relaxed. The north-facing wall is a bookshelf with leather volumes within it, and various other relics; whilst to your immediate left is a bar looking like something straight out of Cheers. The range of firewater is extensive. I counted 12 different beer taps; and there seemed to be an endless selection of spirits(that would put Kemeney’s in Bondi to shame). The food is fantastic, but the service by both bar and waitstaff is lacklustre. Sure, you’ll get a smile and an accurately filled order; but no enthusiasm. Your experience though, will be a pleasant one overall; of that, you can rest assured.

If you come here with a group at lunchtime make sure you order separately otherwise you will wait a long time. Food is great here. Some of the things I recommend: Crispy squid salad Sweet potato fries with tahini sauce Chicken schnitzel but only when it’s on special!

As an American who just moved to Sydney, I’ve been wandering around my new neighborhood looking for a good local bar to go to regularly for craft beer, good food, and a good conversation. Do not miss the brisket nachos and tacos. They are, quite frankly, phenomenal. Between that, the good prices on craft beer, and the bartenders and manager who are always up for a good conversation this is the place for me.

This place used to do $ 10 steak nights on Mondays… now they’re $ 12.50 steak nights. The same goes for their schnitty nights… prices have gone up. That just doesn’t roll off your tongue as easily… Regardless the food is still pretty good, staff friendly, and plenty of drinks to offer. Great local hangout or for drinks after work.

Wandered in here on a beautiful sunny afternoon in Surry Hill. The draw for us was their fantastic outdoor patio which is a great way to enjoy the day. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had moderate expectations of the pub, but it does have a good range of drinks and an great space to hang out. We had the crispy squid and a burger — both were quite good.

Trinity is a great local spot and is becoming better by the day. Before we used to just visit on occasion for the $ 10 Steak night on Mondays. How surprised were we when we noticed on our last visit that the beer list, menu, and décor had all been refreshed. This isn’t a wow! this is so different type of change. Instead, it’s a nice upgrade all around. It keep the same semi-seedy local pub charm but upgrades all of the elements. Service and food here is always top notch as well. Well done guys, and keep it up!

Must. Resist. Urge. To. Write. Matrix. Fan-fiction. Which is a surprisingly easy ask at the Trinity, which looks nothing like a bleak vision of the future(/present?) of our species, but instead is a throw back to a better time. A time when men were men and animals were stuffed and mounted, surrounded by many leather bound books. The décor is the first thing you’ll notice. The walls are book shelves, lined with possibly pretend, pleather books. A rusty old toy Tonka from the year nineteen dickety-two looked down at me from just beyond arm’s reach. A good thing too, because I’m not above playing Tonkas at the dinner table. But for the football fans, you’ll also find a wide screen television smack bang in the middle of the front wall. Monday night is cheap steak night. For 10 modern day dollars you’ll be fed like a colonial farm hand: steak to your liking with veg, mash and lashings of gravy. Being a vegetarian, I took the decidedly contemporary chickpea nachos with salsa and guac. Ciders are cheap and the staff are extremely helpful in getting them in to you as quickly and copiously as possible. The outdoor area beckons you in and holds you for an extended stay at the Trinity. My dinner date discovered her new signature drink here on this very night, so that’s bound to go down in history somewhere. When Morpheus sits you down and gives you that choice, I think I know what you’ll choose: the Trinity.

After our first choice of restaurants was closed due to the Australia Day holiday, we wandered into this pub with two hungry small children in tow. Although they couldn’t accommodate us on the main pub floor due to the kiddos, they let us eat upstairs. Husband happy wit happy hour draft choices — and the rest of us delighted with the gush taco with pineapple salsa, a huge offering of in unassembled falafel fare, and delicious squash ravioli. Kind, accommodating service and pub food that rises to level of foodie food.

Nails the good pub basics — decent range of drinks(though wish there was more cider on tap!), fun jam jar cocktails, huge servings of tasty pub food with a few more inventive offerings and perhaps the best sweet potato fries I’ve had in Sydney! Staff are lovely and Wednesday trivia upstairs is extremely popular — get in early for a table!

The burger with beets, pickle, and bacon is a local favorite I was told. With sweet potato fries it was fantastic. Great beers too.

Sauntered in on an early Friday afternoon not sure if they’d be serving food but thankfully they were. Too sick to try the great looking beer selections but enjoyed my beef and guinness pie with side mash that had some lovely garlic and leeky goodness mixed in. Since you can never have enough potatoes, we got some chips with garlic aioli dip as well to share and they were great too. My partner had a done-up dog that looked tempting but hard to share so I didn’t try it. Atmosphere was really relaxed, and I got a kick out of the old law books as space-fillers on the shelf behind the booths. Plenty of seating, even the beer-drinking tables had seats with backs which is a bonus I’d keep in mind when selecting a place to go out in future. The music was also really good, which is something else important to me if I’m going to spend an hour or more in one spot. Looking forward to coming back to sample some drinks soon.

Its a firm favorite of mine, the food is awesome you really get what you pay for quality and quantity. Also a good spot to watch the sport as they have a good projector screen in one corner.

Good for drinks, bad for eats. Trinity asks $ 22 for a fish and chips(their«Little Creatures»). The fish was much too hard for a fish and chips — it had the texture of a fried swordfish, very odd. The portions are very large and you can’t take food out in a doggie bag, so you’ll want to split a meal if you do get one. The beer selection was great as Sydney goes, and typical for prices — $ 7 – 8 a beer.

Bottom Line: Great food, great atmosphere — a Surry Hills staple. Since we moved to the area Trinity has been a go to spot for us for casual lunches and dinners. The spacious outdoor(but covered) patio in the front of the bar is probably its most appealing quality. It’s the perfect people-watching vantage point — right in the thick of things on the corner of Crown and Devonshire Streets. Aside from the ideal location, the food isn’t bad either — and by Surry Hills standards it’s rather affordable. Plus — they have White Rabbit, my favorite Aussie beer, on tap — WIN! Some of our favorites on the menu have been the King Prawn Spaghetti($ 22), the Little Creatures Beer Battered Barramundi($ 20), the Cottage Pie($ 17) and the Sirloin Steak(25). There are so many other delicious looking items on the menu that we’ve yet to try. They also often have daily specials — $ 10 Steaks on Mondays!

The Trinity Bar is a trusty pub that you’d wish to call your local. I like this place because of the hearty pub food they serve, steaks, pies, bangers n mash and burgers are some of the typical menu items that are all served in big portions. It’s a good idea to come a little early on the weekend so you can grab a good seat on their deck out the front. The Trinity also has a large range of beers on draught and drink specials during the week. They have 14 local and imported beers on tap and on Fridays and Saturdays you can also grab a schooner of little creatures pale or bright ale for $ 5 all day. Keep an eye out for the food specials too like the $ 10 sirloin steaks on Mondays. Oh and if it ever gets a little too noisy or crowded for your liking just remember to go and check out the 2nd bar and seating area upstairs called the Eden room, its usually a bit quieter.

Trinity Bar is another great pub option if the Clock and The White Horse are full, but keep in mind that they don’t take evening bookings so you might have to practise patience. Alternatively, there’s also Edens Room upstairs, which is open from 6pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Sitting on the corner of Crown and Devonshire Streets, Trinity Bar offers a decent menu and a good drinks list, and has been doing so for the past 10 years. Try to nab a seat outside and watch the Surry Hills set go by — it’s fantastic people watching in these parts. The food menu mixes contemporary Australian with traditional hearty pub food. The crispy prawns with roast garlic and aioli are great to nibble on and I love the Little Creatures beer-battered barramundi with chips and salad(or mash and veg) plus tartare and lemon.

Trinity Bar holds an entirely refurbished place in my heart since returning from London, as it now reminds me of my favourite bar in Camden, the oh-so-cool fifty-five( ). Whilst Trinity Bar doesn’t have the amazing cocktail list that Fifty-Five boasts, nor the amazing 2−4−1 cocktail happy hour & Sunday Sesh, the bar buzzes with a similar crowd of casual-cool 20 to 30 somethings and finding a table is an equally difficult task at Trinity as at Fifty-Five, involving much lingering and sleuth behaviour. Trinity Bar doesn’t completely satisfy my nostalgic Fifty-Five pangs, but it comes close. The beer garden is fantastic for people watching(if you’re lucky enough to snag a table) and as it’s only a short walk from Belvoir theatre, it’s a great place to go for a pre-theatre drink.
