I Ran The Wrong Way

What kind of shop is only open two days a week? What do they DO in there otherwise? Does the space also double as a environmentalist co-​op of vegan humanitarians? How do they pay the rent if they don’t seem to make it a priority to sell anything to anyone?
Ok, I am venting my frustrations because I spent so much time really wanting to check this shop out. It was playing hard to get, and I fell right into the trap. Sometimes I slipped eager little notes under the door to get the shop to open up for me, but my tactics of perusal were never enough. Until that fateful day (a Saturday), where my true love opened up for me.
Now maybe my expectations were high. Maybe I thought that after waiting and pining for so long that my world would be changed and I would receive biscuits with choc chips made of gold flakes when I walked through the door. Not the case.
To be fair, there are some cool things in here. I particularly enjoyed the homemade finger puppets and the jeans made for toddlers. There are also some very cool sets of reusable, recycled wooden plates, bowls and cutlery for your next picnic. And while you’re at it, pick up a mexican blanket to lounge on in the park.
I’m not certain I Ran the Wrong Way was worth running the right way (straight toward its door) so many times before. Maybe you’ll have a different experience, but if you’re not patient, I suggest you keep on a-​running.

I Ran The Wrong Way is a gorgeous store for the conscious consumer. Everything is recycled or up-​cycled, a growing trend in the green mission of today. They are only open on Friday and Saturday so it makes me feel as though this concept store is a labour of love, not necessity.
The level of creativity in the pieces is immense and anyone interested in design will be inspired.
There are t-​shirts, up-​cycled wallets, jewellery, bags. It is truly amazing what people can make out of waste. Books on reducing our imprint on the world, eating wholefoods, and ethical shopping adorn the shelves.
This store is the kind that makes you feel better about yourself. It supports the local community and local artists. We can all change for the better and ‘I Ran The Wrong Way’ will give you that push start.

I’m not sure why but I’m a bit obsessed with a little store called I Ran The Wrong Way. The name might have something to do with it or may be it’s the fact that it’s not open every time I want to visit. It’s only open on a Friday or Saturday and it’s hard to describe it. The best description may be a quirky little store which sells house hold decorations? Household fittings? Gifts? Jewellery? Art?
Whatever it is, its worth a visit but if you do, definitely don’t run or even turn the wrong way. This place is so small you may end up knocking something over.
Everything seems to have a price tag on it except the big picture hanging on the wall. I’m too scared to ask for the price just in case it’s out of my price range or worse, if it’s not for sale at all. I’m taken with it.
One day I’ll have the courage. I hope for their sake it’s a Friday or Saturday!
