Not the Mother of all florists, but close! I usually walk in and ask for a fresh bouquet, on the spot: who it is for, the occasion, the budget, a colour restriction if there is one and off the florist goes. The flowers are of good quality, they give you recommendations to take care of them, the bouquets are well-made and always with enough greenery in it so that if you are on an empty wallet — I know I usually am — you don’t show up with a tiny ridiculous thing. The selection of flowers and accessories has nothing to envy to larger florists. My favourite thing about this shop is that it is organized, but stays alive and messy: you can see the staff love flowers and a lush, beautiful display of colours. The aroma of fresh flowers and the humidity in the air just put you at peace. Walk in even if you don’t buy, you’ll see for yourself!

I admit, I didn’t purchase anything here, but it had the most gorgeous selection I have ever seen.

Fresh little flower shop on Crown street what got me in there was the buckets out the front. I was really surprised to see miniature roses for only $ 8 a bunch and there was about 10 – 15 buds per bunch. A great deal I thought so I went to scope out more. I was happy to see Peony’s in season they are such a magnificent flower and so tremendously used in fragrance, their essence is inexplicably sensuous. They were on sale too, the staff was very friendly and receptive to my mountains of questions about the Peonys he didn’t falter at all. He explained that the pink peony’s were on sale at $ 18 a bunch or 2 for $ 30 as opposed to $ 36 per bunch. There were some larger variety’s of peony’s that blossomed more they were not on special. Peony is priced so preciously as they are only in season once a year. And they are not really suited to Australia’s climate. Which is interesting as they do have waxy leaves. The rest of the store had a range of other flowers and plants and they were happy to prepare a bouquet for you if necessary.

You want to make sure that your partner never sings you the few bars from the song«You Don’t Bring Me Flowers» by Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand. When you walk into the Crown street florist you see that they have a sense of style about them. Their designs and arrangements had flair and looked like floral sculptures. I asked them to put together a bouquet and they recommended a couple of flowers that I wouldn’t normally choose. Seeing that they knew what they were doing and much of their stock is seasonal, I went with their recommendation. The end result was a gorgeous designer bouquet. The bouquet was wrapped in black paper with a beautiful burlap wrap that was tied together with a couple of flowers to highlight the bow. I’ve been back a number of times and the bouquets always turn out extra special and have a hint of the unexpected.
