Blank_space was a space for pop-ups before pop-ups were even a thing. I don’t even remember when people started talking about pop-ups outside of the context of books, but I’m pretty sure Blank_space was in existence and referred to as «that-shop-on-Crown-Street-that’s-sometimes-an-art-gallery-sometimes-a-shop-and-other-stuff». If anything, somebody just thought that the term pop-up was a more efficient way of describing Blank_space. This place is true to it’s name and really is just a blank canvas for the ‘residents’ to do whatever they want to meet their purpose. More often than not it’s kept pretty basic with just a few things hung up on the white walls, but on the odd occasion people go wild, painting the walls, putting up chandeliers and laying down rugs. There are the expected art exhibitions and vintage clothes sales, but Blank_space doesn’t discriminate — I’ve seen ugg boot sales and icecream being given away in this joint. And that’s what I love about Blank_Space — you never know what to expect.
