Great quick dinner if you are in the area. As we arrived we could hear belly dancing in their functions room. Love the lemon drink they make goes well with the food and to help cool you down in humid weather. Got the banquet with dessert which comes to $ 30 per person. You get flat bread with 2 dips, bowl of beans, tabuleh, falafel and a plate of bbq meats. Food was tasty and came out quick. Overall, i thought it was an ok first visit. Because we didnt get to sit and eat the sweets we got a mixed pack container to take away.

Excellent Lebanese food at a great price! My fiancé and I tried Abdul’s on a whim one day when we were walking down Elizabeth St. The take away is just as good as the full restaurant(it’s all the same kitchen) Because it was so delicious we brought his family back a few weeks later. Six of us ate for $ 120 with entrees. It was phenomenal. Abdul’s dishes are great for sharing. The dips are phenomenal and go with all the other plates, and the bread is fresh and delicious. One dish that stood out for is was the fried cauliflower, which was great! Not soggy and lots of flavor. There is no corkage charge so you can byo as well. I would highly reccommend Abdul’s, especially if you have a group. We will definitely be back.

Amazing and authentic Lebanese food just past Surry Hills! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked in as it’s a bit dingy, but then again they say you can never judge a book by its cover. Our group sat in one of their private rooms and opted for the banquet menu. They’re kind enough to let you swap out dishes that you don’t want for dishes that you do want, which I haven’t seen too much of around here!- The banquet is only $ 30/head and includes a ton of deliciousness. The highlights were definitely the tabouleh, lahme bajin and the falafel. Actually, all of it was delicious– I don’t think you could go wrong. We had eyes that were bigger than our stomachs(how’s that for two cliches in one review??) so in addition to the banquet also ordered 3 extra dishes for the table. Rookie mistake, but I will say the leftovers that lasted for 3 lunches after were quite tasty… Bonus? The Lebanese waitress who acts exactly like your mom(you aren’t going to be able to eat all of that, do you want takeaway containers because I told you so, no, you can’t have milk in your lebanese coffee). Amazing.

Extremely good Lebanese food at a very reasonable price. My husband and I were excited to see that there was a mini– Lebanese town only a few blocks from where we were staying in Redfern. We both love Middle Eastern food, and I had a hard time narrowing down which restaurant to go to. I eventually settled on Abdul’s, and I am so glad that I did. As others have mentioned, it is definitely a no-frills type of place. I didn’t even realize they had a place to sit since their dining room is off to the right in the back behind the register. We showed up late on a weekday night, and they weren’t very busy, which was nice. We ordered a kebab platter I believe(it was the lamb sticks). It came with hummus, baba ghanouj, tabbouli, a piece of falafel, garlic sauce and pickled veggies. All of them were wonderful and fresh. The lamb was great. The hummus and baba ghanouj were delicious. The falafel was a bit less crunchy than my husband normally likes, but I thought they were great. I also ordered a small order of fried cauliflower which came with a labne(yogurt) dip. Everything was freshly fried and freshly cooked. The cauliflower was fried on the spot. The meat was cooked in front of me, and then falafel was reheated/refried right before we ate it. My husband and I got more than enough food for two for only ~$ 26. In Sydney, that’s an incredible deal.

This place unfortunately uses kebab meat(yes a large rotating slab of meat) rather than grilling chicken/lamb and microwaves their ladies fingers :( I look forward to trying more of the menu You’re better off going to Fatimas which is only a block away which has better ladies fingers and way better chicken rolls

Wow ok this place is an absolute winner! Looks like of dodgy as the ambience could be better but you can’t fault the service and yummy feast. I could see a popular option was one of the kebabs meals but I decided to go for the finger food options and try and make my own. Some vegetarian which was good(the guy behind the counter asked — I wasn’t but it was nice!) and some meat pastries options as well. The hummus was a large dollop(delicious) and the tabbouleh provided a nice cut through. Lots of people were doing takeaway so could see it’s popular with the locals. I highly recommend if you’re in for nice, cheap and tasty!

Came here once just to try something different. We have ordered the set menu as you can try a lots of different dishes in one visit. Food was nice and was a lot so you would not leave hungry.

My friends and I were looking to eat something different — something other than Thai food, so we decided to get Lebanese. We came here on a Wednesday night, was relatively empty. It’s BYO and Obama just won the presidency, so I had to buy some champagne to celebrate. What’s great is there’s no corkage fee! There was so much to choose from on the menu so we decided on the Mixed Mazza Banquet menu for $ 30. You get Humous, Tabouli, Baba ganouge, Falafel, Lady Fingers, Vine Leaves, Mixed Veges, Shish Kebabs, Garlic Chicken & Kafta and you finish with Lebanese Coffee & Baclava. There was a ton of food and it came out fairly fast. The food was delicious and filling. The humous was particularly good, as was the shish kebab! Service was good and it was a cool atmosphere.

This is a family owned Lebanese that has been open since 1968 and passed down generation to generation. The owners are lovely. My parents have been coming to this restaurant since the 70s and it has even endured a fire and been rebuilt. We come here for birthdays every year. From the outside the décor might not look too flash but the food is great and cheap, you will not leave hungry. The lemon drink and hommous are to die for, as is the baklava. Tip: Try a mixed plate for your first time or a banquet if you have a few people. Both are good value and let you sample a wide range of things. P. S. A few of the waitresses are a bit grouchy looking but don’t let that deter you… great food every time! P. P. S. It’s BYO

It might not look like much, but Abdul’s is a Surry Hills, nay Sydney, institution. The Lebanese fare is authentic and amazing and fantastically cheap. Plus, Abdul’s proximity to Belvoir St Theatre and its late opening hours makes it perfect for both a pre and post theatre dinner(for actors and audience alike). Although if you’re going for the pre-theatre choice, avoid the garlic sauce — it’s amazing but that stuff is potent. The staff are impartial but friendly enough and whilst dining in at the take-away section of this restaurant isn’t a fancy option(the adjoining restaurant fills that quota, complete with belly dancers), you’ll have no qualms with the two plastic tables and plastic cutlery once your platters of food arrive. Save room for the turkish delight by sharing a plate between a couple of you and keep your eyes peeled for the actors from the play you’re about see/have just seen. Don’t take this as a suggestion, take it as an order. Go to Abdul’s.
