This is one of my go-to places for cheap, tasty Asian eats. — Service is generally prompt — The«afternoon tea» from 2:20 — 5:30 has even cheaper meals so go ahead and have an early dinner or late lunch! — I highly recommend the Vietnamese lemongrass pork chop and rice. It’s so fragrant and has a dipping sauce of sweet fish sauce yum! — I also love the Vietnamese rice vermicelli salad(with lemongrass pork as well) — $ 2.50 salty egg! Drool. It’s great with some rice and BBQ meats(they sell BBQ pork, roast pork and roast duck) — Food normally comes out in less than 20 mins but on a couple of occasions, a dish took a while and when you ask for it, they’ll just say it’s coming(and it does, after another ten minutes)

Getting my last Aussie-Asian dishes in before my time is up! Came here with some friends after another Hillsong night again, and we came near closing, so they unfortunately ran out of everything duck! I was craving this so much, so I was a little sad that they had none left. I instead ordered the pork chop dish with rice along a side of Bokchoy vegetables with oyster sauce. Both came out pretty quickly, and I was glad the portion sizes were filling. They even offered to give us free drinks like tea, soft drinks, etc.

I was a tad dubious when my friend told me about this place because: 1) She was white 2) She was walking me and our two prams with babies through a very busy car park 3) She was recommending ‘Chinese of some sort’ food that was okay, being a pasta girl herself When we finally turned the last corner of the carpark, I saw Vietnam Corner and I kindly informed her that it was Vietnamese food, a form of chinese food but yes, let’s go try it. Things about this place you need to know: 1) Don’t go there with a pram(as we found out, as the waiters tried to rearrange tables to get us through and that was seating us by the front door) as one waiter even suggested we leave our prams outside the door… in the car park. 2) Don’t ever suggest to mothers that they leave their prams out in the busy car park, are you nuts man? Lucky I didn’t go all woop on your ass. 3) They do rush you to order(maybe it was a pram thing as well, we were taking up 2 table spaces now) That aside, if you don’t have the luxury of a pram and a baby, definetely try the food here, it’s simple, authentic and comes out fast which is a bonus if you’re hungry and walking through a busy car park.

Long ago, before I had discovered that Sunnybank is THE place to go for Asian food, a friend and I decided to head to this very neighbourhood to test it out. This was the first place we tried and we have never looked back(or to any other suburb), so there are many fond memories attached. This place is always full, so before you are even seated you know it has to be good. My favourite dish is the won ton noodle soup. The won tons are absolutely delicious and it just seems too good to be true to be spoiled with such yummy noodle soup as well. In the tradition of a lot of the restaurants in this area the servings are enormous and cheap. The huge bowls of won ton noodle soup are only $ 10. It’s not a sophisticated dining experience, but if you love Asian food and a casual setting I highly recommend it.

Residents of Sunnybank and surrounding suburbs will recognise Vietnam Corner as a reliable Vietnamese and Chinese family restaurant. Despite its constant stream of customers, I’ve always found the service to be fairly consistent –and I’ve been going for the past four years. It’s not the sort of place to have a leisurely catch up and gossip session. In fact, the noise levels can get pretty loud during lunchtimes on a weekend. Once you’re seated, the waiters nag you to order fairly quickly. No sooner have they whisked your order into the kitchen, then they’re out again carrying your steaming bowl of phở, pork and vermicelli salad and a plate of fresh bean sprouts and Vietnamese mint. Vietnam Corner boasts a specialist Chinese BBQ — you can order anything from char sui to whole roast pigs(requires at least 24 hours notice). Food wise the quality is above average. It’s unpretentious, simple Vietnamese staple. While I would rate some of the Vietnamese restaurants in Darra higher in terms of authenticity and quality, I always know what I’m getting at Vietnam Corner, the prices are fair and the service is fast. Parking — big car park with disabled parking, can get busy on the weekends. Opening hours– Every day, lunch and dinner
