Subiaco Square is your normal newsagency. It sells lotto, magazines, greeting cards and that kind of stuff.
But there is one thing about this place that really annoys me. When the government introduced the smart cards for Perth’s public transport they decided to limit the number of places that you can add credit to them. Why? I am really not sure. You can add credit if you have an EFTPOS card at the train stations or at limited selected newsagency. In Subiaco this is the ONLY place that you can use cash or a credit card to add funds to your card.
So, what is my problem. They don’t open until 8.30 on weekdays and they close by 5.30pm in the evening. This means that if you travel (like most people who work) outside of these times you can not add credit to your card easily. It is a real pain for kids who are not old enough to have their own EFTPOS cards and everyone else really.
