I really love this shop but I don’t want to admit it because the people inside there were really quite rude, the girl was talking on the phone the entire time to a friend/boyfriend and the man who was vacuuming didn’t even return the courtesy of a smile when I tried to say hello. Most of the things in here are around $ 40 or more with a $ 5 rack which was pretty much bad taste. The set up is really cool with vintage couches and floor mirrors with cute signs. Lucy has a great range of shoes and even vintage baby clothes, sweet sunglasses and hand bags and accessories. I didn’t stick around because they just know how awesome they are to the point that it made me sick.

Tucked away in a little alley off of Rokeby Road in Subiaco, Lucy In Disguise is a haven for all things vintage. Its location makes the experience a bit more fun because you walk away from busy Rokeby and down this little lane way where you finally see this awesome shop that looks like it’s been there since the sixties. You almost get the feeling that you’ve walked back in time(except for when you see the Coles behind you) but it reminds me a lot of the little arty lane ways in Melbourne which is awesome. What I love about this store is that it is so neatly laid out and so spacious, this is probably the only vintage store I have been to that isn’t over crowed and clustered which makes things a lot easier to appreciate and find. Lucy In Disguise stocks a versatile range of clothes at a decent price but also stocks accessories made by local designers, so if you like a little vintage and originality Lucy is a must see.

Lucy In Disguise is a seller of vintage clothing and items located in a small walkway just off Rokeby Road. Aside from a sign sticking out from the wall, the shop is hardly noticeable if you are coming off Rokeby Road — you can easily blink and miss it. However, the location does work well for Lucy In Disguise, in that it means you can browse the shop and its plethora of charming items without the noise and bustle on Rokeby Road. The items available are hand-picked by the owner, and she has a great eye. There are some fascinating and charming pieces for sale, which goes to show that good clothing never goes out of fashion. If you are looking to purchase clothes that will stand out from the crowd. Lucy In Disguise is highly recommended.

I’m a little bit obsessed with Lucy in Disguise. I just happened upon it one day as I was walking down Rokeby Road — out of the corner of my eye I spotted the word ‘retro’ on a sign sticking out of the side of a building. Upon further inspection(when I put my glasses on) it was a sign for Lucy in Disguise — Retro Boutique, and was hanging above a doorway that lead down a little laneway. I followed the sign down the little passage until I came to this fantastic jackpot. The shop is so cute, with wooden floors and clean white pigeonhole style shelves holding all sorts of wonderful treasures, as well as some rails of vintage clothes worth hyperventilating over. It’s difficult to walk out of here without buying at least one thing. According to the sign on the door, the owner of the shop lovingly sources and selects all of the stock individually, rather than buying on consignment. She has everything from vintage dresses from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s to belts, hats, purses and accessories. She also has a small section of fancy dress items too!
