So, it is your mate’s birthday and you have been super busy and forgot to get a gift. She calls you to catch up for a coffee and it hits you. You have to get a gift in an hour. Oh no! Worst friend ever! This is where stores like Three Birds come in handy. Three Birds have a great selection of gifts that are unique. They offer items like hand made children’s toys, jewellery, awesome smelling candles, designer bags, funky furniture, skin products and light fittings. The collection is quite varied, so I have always found something that suit most people. Even for men! I should also mention that the stock is high quality and some items are designer. So that does impact on the price. But, you will find that the items are all really funky and you will be spoilt for choice. It is really hard to find items like these at other stores. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They will gift wrap an item for you if you need at no extra cost. On more than one occasion they have helped me pick gifts(which I sometimes struggle with). So if you are in Stirling or from the Hills and need something cool for your house or a gift; this store is worth checking out! You never know, you might also find something to spoil yourself.

Three Birds is one of those homewares stores which is a bit like if Rundle Street’s Bauhaus was located in Burnside Village; big decorative pieces in muted tones. Three Birds has an interesting range of jewellery, cushions, gifts and decorative homewares with a few soft furnishings thrown in. There are a few knick-knacks which I always find myself drawn to but don’t buy… oddly enough. Worth a look if you’re wandering around Stirling, but I wouldn’t make the trip to town especially to see the store.

Yes it’s another homewares store and each one has to find their niche in this arena, I actually found this a cute little shop stocked with various ETSY style items. I was attracted firstly to the name Three Birds which reflects the three female shop owners, who happen to be sisters and the second was the bright and interesting looking façade so in I went. They sell a brand of beautifully scented, natural essential oil candles in a white wine glass shape and within the range incorportated were also skincare and home cleaning products in plain brown cardboard packaging. I was very tempted to buy these candles but as they were in the region of over $ 30, it was a bit much and I really wanted to buy at least three… oh well. Some very delicate porcelein vases and bowls with a carbon print design baked on, screen printed tea towls from an artist in Brisbane QLD. A few of the items in the shop have been at the Bowerbird Bazaar the last couple of times, but unfortunatley the prices are no cheaper here. A selection of handmade leather sandals and down the back is a small section of kids trendy toys. All in all, it’s a lovely shop, in a good location and great to visit but I can’t buy anything here I want, so I’d love to see more realistic prices.

What draw me into this place was their rather cute logo and lovely shop window. My level of excitement decreased the longer I spent inside but overall it’s a nice store. They sell a bit of everything, serving bowls, mugs, candles, ceramics etc. I found the one or other item quite nice(they have pretty bamboo salad bowls) but didn’t see anything that jumped out or that I desperately wanted to buy. I’d go back for a quick browse if I’m in the area but wouldn’t drive to Stirling just because of this shop.

Another pointless gift store in Stirling., this is where Ed Harrys used to be, do you know how upset my partner was when I told him that Ed Harry is gone? Filled with candles and photo frames and cushions and tea sets and lamp shades and coasters. It’s one of those stores where you buy for someone else because you yourself wouldn’t actually display much of any of the products in your house. Again, it’s pricey, it’s Stirling so no surprises there. Before Christmas I saw this horrible wreath made from all this little coloured felt balls, it was horrible ugly I daresay it never sold. The shop window actually makes me want to go into the store even less but I think Three Birds is handy when you forgot to buy a present for your aunties birthday and you need something quick smart.
