Sticky Rice Cooking School

I must admit I wasn’t overly excited when Mum said she had booked us in for a cooking lesson.
We drove up to the hills and hung around awkwardly waiting for everyone to turn up. But then we started cooking. Everyone had there own little area and jobs to do. We were making about 8 dishes and all of them seemed very complicated! However, this is definitely one of the funnest things I have done.
The food was amazing! If I wasn’t so lazy I would of re-​created all of the dishes numerous times at home. We had cold rolls, spring rolls, the most amazing noodle dish ever created, rice and curry. After cooking each course we got to sit down and eat, while being served generous amounts of wine (I must admit I became quite tipsy!).
They offer a range of different cooking classes here, I did Asian Vegetarian, but I know Mum has been back many times to try out others!

Me and my boyfriend were given vouchers for this cooking school last Christmas. As he was previously a chef, and I love cooking so this was perfect present considering what we had heard about the school.
We chose a session, which are all Asian themed with some Middle East, and we got to cook on the bbq’s in the grass huts outside. This was a cool experience and the group all worked together helping out with different aspects.
The ingredients are all authentic, some unusual and we do all the work in preparing and cooking as a group.
The guide was very informative, demonstrating some things and tailoring the dishes to suit what we wanted.
At the end we got to eat all the food which was so amazing and satisfying and there was free wine to accompany it. We chatted with the group and the guide and enjoyed the decorative dining area.
Very cool place and something unusual to do with a friend, partner or tourist. Situated in beautiful Stirling, there are plenty of other things to do and see around as well. The classes aren’t cheap though, so as much as I’d love to, I can’t go to that many that often.
