I used to work in St Leonards and we used to call it a ‘suburb with no soul’. It’s true! It really doesn’t have much to offer. Artos Café however is one of the few places you’ll get a decent coffee and a nice lunch. Set on the main Pacific Highway drag, you’ll pick Artos if not for the sign out the front but for the long line of people waiting to get their morning coffee. Same goes at lunchtime. The service here is really friendly and they make an effort to get to know you, which is nice for a place which otherwise has no soul. These guys have daily specials which are always delish but my pick is the creamy potato and spinach pasta — this is a lunchtime indulgence (once a week for me) but it is one of the nicest meals you’ll get in this neck of the woods.
