Average food and extremely expensive. Service was good though.

Kotaraya — I wanted to say how much I love you, but I can’t. You’re alright though. I guess it’s what happens when you’re really looking forward to something… and I had certainly been looking forward to Kotaraya. Having seen their menu and dine options on the way past a few times, I was impressed. Malaysian, Thai, Chinese — YUMMMM! Banquets, chef’s specials, lunch and dinner menu’s, and a takeaway menu! Far out, I thought I had found my heaven on Earth. My husband and I decided to share the Chinese banquet, which for $ 32 I thought was an absolute bargain. Three courses and dessert, this place was getting better! But that’s where the dream ended. It wasn’t that bad, it was ok, I just had higher expectations is all. The short soup; delicious. Entrée… meh. Lobak and spring rolls, for $ 32 and an award winning restaurant, was to me a little generic, and the spring rolls even looked like frozen ones! Main was mixed; the garlic king prawns and chicken were beautiful, but the stir fried veggies with tofu and special fried rice were bland, dry and therefore very hard to enjoy and eat. As for dessert, we didn’t even get it! After waiting 45 mins after our mains(because I didn’t want to be a fussy bitch), I asked how long our dessert would be. Confusion ensued with the waitress I asked, but after ten minutes a very chirpy Chef/cook approached us and in broken English told us they had forgotten about our dessert, oops sorry hehe! They could have it ready in 20 mins because he had a back log of orders. Forget it! Perhaps the most disappointing part was they didn’t even offer to reduce the cost of the meal, and we didn’t ask. We just won’t be back.
