MOVE-N-IT

If you haven’t moved house before, take my advice: don’t. Run to your room, lock the doors and never come out — it’s safe in there! Moving is a super stressful time where tempers can flare up, favourite shoes can get lost and relationships can crumble… which is why I highly recommend a removal service to make the big move go a little more smoothly.
I called MOVE-​N-​IT a week before we had to move, which I thought would be short notice. They couldn’t move us on the day we wanted but they were able to slot us in first thing in the morning the day after, which was pretty great. We were the first job of the day so they arrived on time, giving me a courtesy call about 10 minutes before their arrival. I know a lot of people complain about removalists being late, but these guys literally arrived at 8am on the dot. Beautiful. They showed up with two friendly men and big truck — the truck had the perfect amount of space for all of the furniture/​boxes. I was a little bit scared because a lot of people have mentioned removalists misquoting and turning up with a truck that’s too small, but not these guys. They’re on to it.
Our old apartment was on the top floor of a building without a lift, as was our new one… which probably made us an absolute nightmare of a job. It was also day 1 of the great Melbourne heat wave of 2014 (great time to move, right?), but these guys managed the whole job with a great attitude and without a single complaint. In a matter of 3 hours they were able to complete the whole job, which is pretty impressive considering there were 3 flights of stairs at both places!
To top it all off they have very competitive prices, and 100% no hidden fees — the hourly rate they quote is what you pay. They charge per half hour, so you’re not going to be paying for a whole extra hour if they go 10 minutes over. They took no breaks and didn’t waste my time, and were true professionals. I only used their moving service, but according to their website they can also pack boxes and store stuff.
