And I thought AMERICANS were the whiners and crybabies of the world. Are standards for dining satisfaction really that vast between different countries? Seriously, this place is fine. It’s clean, they’re courteous, the food is delicious. Love the whole Scientology thingy going on too. I regret not taking pictures. Had the Mexican crêpe, mainly because I was curious and was craving something at least remotely Mexican since there’s no authentic Mexican food in Australia. I liked it a lot, and the fix helped suppress the craving. What I found to be interestingly pleasant was that they serve a scoop of ice cream with their pancakes. Prior, I had never had this combination nor had I ever imagined it, but for some odd reason, it makes complete sense. I don’t know exactly how Aussies have their pancakes, but this American enjoys pancakes a la mode in the afternoon. Don’t let the average rating for this place fool you. This place is actually pretty good.

Most overpriced restaurant(for what they serve) in the history of Western dining!!!

I love pancakes, and whilst the pancakes here are pretty good, the other factors far outweigh that. The service is appalling. Basically once they take your order you can count on waiting a long time before you receive your meal. They don’t check in much to see if you want more coffee(the coffee is bottomless) or water, etc. The worst part of all is the amount of money they charge you for the experience. For two people you’ll spend around $ 35. Let’s remember that this is for some flour, milk and egg. I’m not a fan of this place as I’m a stickler for service and the cost-to-quality-of-food ratio.

Ok, so I’m not a fan of pancakes. I would even go as far to say I hate them. But when I married my husband(who would have happily had our wedding reception in a pancake parlour), I have no choice but to give in on occasion and go to the pancake parlour with him. Probably the only thing on the menu that I enjoy is their Mexican chicken crêpe. Ok, I’ll admit it, I love their Mexican chicken crêpe, and everytime I am begrudgingly dragged off to the pancake parlour I smile alittle on the inside. The service here is fairly average. You tend to wait a long time to order, but once you have the food comes out pretty quickly. Its also open late, till 3am on fri and sat nights, which is a huge bonus when you have the late night munchies.

The Pancake Parlour, for me, is almost an addiction. It’s sad, I know, but dammit, if I don’t get a large stack with whipped butter and maple syrup into my system at least once every month or so, I begin to stop functioning as a normal, happy person. No really, the food is that good. It’s a bit expensive(if you have a main and a dessert, you probably aren’t going to have a lot of change out of a fifty dollar note), but the food is awesome. Probably not entirely as healthy as I’d like, but lets face it, if all everyone ever ate was healthy, the world would have plenty more desperately unhappy people in it. The décor is neat, if a bit old fashioned, but that’s the style of the place. The service is pretty darn good, and it doesn’t take long to have your order taken. Sometimes the food itself takes awhile, but that’s really only when the place is massively busy. All in all, it’s a pretty good place to eat.
