The business was started by Arthur Carlin in 1960. He recognized the need for a motor auction house to facilitate the purchase and disposal of stock specifically for the retail motor industry.

Carlins remarketing facilities are located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Technological advancements through Online Auctions and Online Tenders have allowed Carlins to consign and sell vehicles outside of these three major cities

Carlins know that quick turnaround is paramount and provide cost efficient and timely services. Carlins buy and sell vehicles as well as accept vehicles for sale on consignment. Vehicles are sold via ‘Trade Only’ Tenders and or Auctions. Carlins Wholesale Division also offer vehicles at fixed prices.
