Espresso Garage

Back to Garage after a long hiatus, and sadly the service has not improved. The coffee is good (as demonstrated by the many cyclists that frequent Garage), and the did menu is simple and will priced. However service is SLOW! this morning I waited over half an hour, which then made me late for an appointment over us gulped down my food. Sadly I was not the only person looking at my watch and asking after food and coffee this morning.
On other days, Garage is great. But they need to fix their service.

I’ll park myself at espresso garage any day (get it?). But seriously! What a glorious hole in the wall.
After my boyfriends final exam we decided to hang out in Southbank during the final preparations of the G20. I felt as though we may have been the only people who has this thought as most places in Southbank were closed, however not our trusty E’garage.
I’m a chocolate head so I ordered a hot chocolate and my boyfriend is mental so he ordered a double shot something or rather, and in his honest opinion ⁵⁄₅ stars! I rated my hot chocolate a little on the boring side. However the big friendly smiles and customer service made the experience all the more beautiful. Sometimes it’s the smiling face that makes you return rather than the coffee itself. I’d return for both.
Espresso Garage you have now officially made it very difficult for me to choose between you and My Sweetopia. Such a pleasant difficulty to overcome.

A cool little hole-​in-​the-​wall which specialises in one thing and does it darn well, Espresso Garage has been popular enough to spawn another little opening (big enough for a hatchback at least) in Petrie Tce.
Using boutique Genovese coffee and employing talented baristas, the caffeinated results speak for themselves. Great coffee, every time. It’s no wonder the place is so successful with local workers looking for a pick-​me-​up before the start of the 9 to 5 grind. You’ll often find corporate types sharing a table and perched on one of the cubic wooden stools in the open courtyard, though the functional furniture tends to prevent these catch ups turning into proxy office meetings complete with laptops, sheaths of paperwork etc, which is a good thing in my book.
Espresso Garage, with its great coffee and cool outdoor seating, is the perfect place to park yourself and watch the passersby put on some mileage.

Garage may operate from a hole-​in-​the-​wall, but its seating spreads out onto the leafy pavement of South Bank’s Little Stanley Stanley Street shops, making it a great place to pull up a stool and have a coffee.
Cyclists love it because there’s so much space to park their bikes, plus they can keep their lycra-​ed sweaty bodies outside in the breezes.
Service is quick, but you’ll need to place your order inside before sitting down.
Good coffee, a nice place to sit and a great location — what more could you want?

…this is usually the battle cry my brain employs whenever I show up bedraggled at southbank.
But with good reason,
Garage has hands down the BEST coffee in Southbank.
(I would say Brisbane, but I would never be able to show my face at Blackstar again.)
I don’t know what they do with their coffee,
(I can’t keep up with these new fangled methods of making bean into java. IN MY DAY ALL WE HAD WAS INSTANT.)
whatever it is I hope they keep doing it.
Even though they have a somewhat limited menu,
I always get the avocado on focaccia with relish
It’s simple but one of the best thing’s to start the morning with.
Watch out for the lycra mob on the weekends,
they may look a bit bowlegged off of their bikes
but they will swipe the last seat if you’re not careful!
