Hi there! I’m Kayla, the one and only florist and owner of Burlap & Twine. I’m an engineer turned florist from smack dab in the middle of America. I grew up in Kansas and Nebraska, which is where I fell in love with sunflowers and rustic styles. I studied Mechanical Engineering and International Business, a career which sent me off to work in England where I met my Australian husband.

When we moved to Brisbane, jobless, my husband and I decided that I was at the perfect crossroads to fulfill my long time dream of starting my own business. Harnessing my creativity and my dislike for sitting at a 9 – 5 desk job, I studied floristry and launched Burlap & Twine, a small-​scale floral design business where I can spend my time making pretty things, driving around Brisbane delivering vintage, boho, and rustic bouquets and making people happy all over the city.
