If you are serious about sculpture, you really have to go and check out Adelaide Moulding & Casting Supplies. Whilst it is certainly possible to obtain simpler materials such as plaster and clay from other sources, this is really the only place in town which, stocks expoy resins, latex, alginate etc for quick high quality casting. The staff are very knowledgeable and are a good source of information if you are getting into sculpture.

Adelaide Moulding and Casting is really the only decent supplier of sculpture supplies in Adelaide. And jewellery making stuff, and candle making stuff, and even surfboard repair stuff. Latex, resin, silicone, fibreglass, etc. They have recently moved premises to Somerton Park, out near Brighton. The staff are pretty helpful if you’re unfamiliar with a particular product — able to give you some basic guidance on the qualities and safety hazards of materials. They also stock a range of how-to books. I have bought in store and ordered online. Online ordering is relatively economical and they provide quick delivery. You will probably save a bit by driving out there though. AMCS also run workshops on moulding and casting, airbrushing, carving and a bunch of other useful stuff. I have never been to one of these, but based on my experiences thus far I would give it a shot.
