On my last trip out to the south western suburbs I discovered that places like Sherwood, Graceville and Chelmer are op shop gold mine territory. There are op shops out here that you can still find $ 2 bargains in! What sets apart the Red Cross Op Shop at Sherwood is the atmosphere. I’ve been in here a few times to browse through the stock, and what always ends up happening is that I wind up gas bagging and making firm friends with fellow shoppers and the staff. It seems that whenever anyone picks something up to look at, someone will chime in with their two cents worth. «That’s amazing! Look at the cut on that!». Yesterday, myself and a few other girls ended up modelling costumes, cat walking through the shop, ooh-ing and aah-ing, laughing and cooing. We had a great time. The further out you are from the city, the better op shop prices get. The Red Cross at Sherwood has pretty good prices. I found a handmade large decorative ceramic bowl for $ 4, a stuffed toy lion backpack for $ 5, and killer mustard yellow heels for only $ 6. Score!
